Prayer For Office Blessing
Lord, be close to your servants who move into this home (today) and ask for your blessing. Be their shelter when they are at home, their companion when they are away, and their welcome guest when they return. And at last receive them into the dwelling place you have prepared for them in your Father's house, where you live for ever and ever.
R. Amen.
Our Lord Jesus often visited people in their workplaces: Simon Peter and
Andrew when they were fishing, James and John in their boat mending the nets, the
Samaritan woman at the well, Levi at his tax booth and in the market place. He told
stories about people's work as illustrations of God's rule: A sower planting seeds,
reapers at the harvest time, a woman baking bread, a merchant in search of fine
pearls.
Father, spiritual laws have been established saying that if I plant a seed it will give forth a harvest, and I believe it. So I make the decision right now to receive. I will receive. I will do all the things necessary. I will plantI am planting now. I put the sickle to the harvest. My confession is on the Word. My confession is by faith.
Lord today I bring my gift to your house. Jesus, you said to give, and it will be given unto me. I thank you that with the same measure I use it will be measured back to me. I believe that I receive it, and I act in faith on your word today.
Almighty everlasting God, who are in full command of all places under Your dominion, and without whose leave nothing occurs; shield this seminary from all harm, and let no evil power work havoc here. By the power of the holy cross and by the operation of the Holy Spirit may a worthy service be rendered to You in this place, and may a holy freedom abound; through Christ our Lord.
Lord God almighty, bless this office (or home), that it be the shelter of health, purity, and self-control; that there prevail here a spirit of humility, goodness, mildness, obedience to the commandments, and gratitude to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. May this blessing remain on this place and on those who live here now and always. Amen
May God, the Father of goodness, who commanded us to help one another as brothers and sisters, bless this building with his presence and look kindly on all who enter here. R. Amen.
O God, in your wise providence you are glad to bless all human labor, the work of our hands and of our minds. Grant that all who plan and conduct business in this office may, through your guidance and support, come to right decisions and carry them out fairly. We ask this through Christ our Lord. R. Amen.
