Prayer For Confirmation Students
My God, I love you above all things, with my whole heart and soul,
because you are all good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor
as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and
I ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen.
God of all ages, You send out your Spirit to touch the hearts of people
so that they may believe in you and in Jesus, whom You sent.
Loving, gracious God, send your Holy Spirit upon me.
Make me an instrument of your love.
Make me more aware of the many ways of Your presence.
Teach me to reverence what is holy in others,
and to be patient with what I do not understand.
Deepen my faith in the gospel, and help me to pass it on by good example.
With those who are hesitant or afraid,
let me be a source of encouragement.
And with those who are weak, let me be a pillar of strength.
I humbly accept the ministry of sponsor and pray that You will continue to
guide and sustain me in this important role.
Bless us on our journey.
Open our ears to always listen;
Our mouths to always speak our feelings, our reflections;
Our hands to reach out to others;
Our hearts to grow closer to you and all in Your family.
Lord, send Your Holy Spirit and renew the face of the earth.
I praise you through Christ our Lord. Amen
Lord, You send out Your Spirit to touch the hearts of all people, so that they may believe in
You and in Jesus whom You sent. Look kindly on all candidates for Confirmation as they
listen to Your voice. Open their hearts to Your Spirit and bring to fulfilment the good work
that You have begun in them. As we prepare these children for Confirmation, make each of
us an instrument of Your love. Teach us to appreciate what is holy in others, and to be
patient with what we do not understand. Deepen our faith in the Gospel and help us to pass
it on by our example. We pray that You will continue to guide us and sustain us. Through
Christ our Lord, Amen.
Dear Lord, today is my confirmation and I do not take this lightly as I have grown in my spiritual walk with You. I thank You for guiding me on this path of closeness with You because a truly righteous man attains life, but he who pursues evil goes to his death. I pray that You continue to show me the path of life because along that path is immortality. In You is my eternal reward, Amen.
Holy Father, Your word tells me that if I seek You, I will find You if I look for You with all my heart and with all my soul. I have sought You with all my heart and I know that I must confirm my faith to You because You are my God. Thank You for being merciful. I know that You will not abandon or destroy me or forget the covenant with my forefathers. Thank You, Lord, for being faithful to me, uphold me as I complete this act of faith to You, Amen.
Eternal Savior, thank You for who You are! I have sworn it and today I choose to confirm it, I will keep Your righteous ordinances. I will remain faithful to You just as You have been to me. I will take my spiritual walk with You to the next level by confirming my faith in this public arena. I pray that You strengthen me daily so that I can commit to You wholeheartedly. Father, please guide me on my journey as I draw nearer to You, Amen.
DAILY PRAYER FOR YOUR CONFIRMATION
O God, I pray that you give me a right heart,
that I may come to know you in Jesus.
Lead me to know the sinfulness of my own heart,
and your great love for me,
in Christ Jesus.
Help those who teach me,
to give me the teaching I need.
Grant that, on my Confirmation Day,
I may be ready to give myself to be your faithful
soldier
and servant to my life's end;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Spirit of God, grant me:
The gift of wisdom
To see the world through your eyes,
The gift of counsel
To make difficult decisions,
The gifts of knowledge and understanding
To use my mind to know you and to love you,
The gift of fortitude
To have the courage to live in the faith
Despite the difficulties and disappointments,
The gift of piety
To be able to express my special love
And commitment to you,
And the right kind of awesome fear
That makes me pause to wonder and revere
God's Love.
Amen.
