Prayer For Self Control
Gracious God, please help me develop control over the words I speak, so they are gracious and appropriate and fit the occasion. I confess I often just blurt out words that might hurt or offend others or simply make me seem foolish. Help me develop a godly filter over my mouth! Help me control speech that is overly negative or gloomy, and discipline myself to praise You and encourage others. Amen.
Lord my Strength, I ask You to give me discipline when choosing what and how much to eat. Your Word teaches me that gluttony is a sin, and self-control is a fruit of the Spirit in my life. Help me to wisely choose foods that are high in nutrition and healthy for my body, and avoid foods that are harmful to my health. Help me avoid mindless eating and overeating. Amen.
Dear God,
Please help me to have more self-control. Train me Lord, like an athlete to be strong and determined. Feed me with your truth in the scriptures to make me healthy. May I exercise muscles of forgiveness, patience and peacemaking. Lord, increase my stamina to give out to those in need. And may I be freed from past hurts and confusions so that I can run free.
Come fill my life with your resurrection hope!

Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that too often, I allow myself to be controlled by my desires and my impulses rather than by Your Spirit. Please forgive me and help me to draw me closer to You, walking in Your Spirit every moment of every day. This is impossible for me apart from Your grace, so please grant it lavishly, as you promise. It's in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, that I pray. Amen.
Lord Jesus, I believe and trust that You will deliver me from temptations and self indulgence as I place my heart in Your loving care.
Though I may stumble, Your mighty power will lead me back in focus and self control. You will deliver me from the evil schemes of satan.
I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. May I be renewed daily with a fresh filling of Your Spirit, as I come and surrender myself. In Your blessed name Lord Jesus Christ I pray, Amen!
Dear Lord, help us to know ourselves. Teach us to recognize our weaknesses and work to walk in holiness. Let us repent, and follow you in all things. Thank you for your unendeding grace and mercy toward us when we need it most. Help us to trust you with our lives. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Dear God, please do not let me play with sin. Let me live holy and acceptable life before you so that I can qualify for your blessings. Please guide me to operate under the leadership of your Holy Spirit so that I can enjoy your goodness throughout the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Good Lord, please teach me how to apply moderation to everything I do. Do not let me be carried away with worldly activities, but let me be disciplined and have self-control. Let me be efficient in serving you at all times so that you can be happy with me. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
