Welcome to Prayerist.com (“Prayerist,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Description of Services

Prayerist provides:

  • A curated library of Christian prayers
  • A personal Prayer Journal for registered users
  • Daily Prayer devotionals tied to the liturgical calendar
  • An AI Prayer Companion that generates personalised prayers
  • A community Prayer Wall for sharing prayer requests
  • An optional daily prayer newsletter

2. Account Registration

To access certain features (Prayer Journal, AI Prayer Companion, Prayer Wall submissions), you must create a free account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. AI-Generated Content

The AI Prayer Companion uses Anthropic’s Claude to generate prayers based on your input. By using this feature, you understand and agree that:

  • AI-generated prayers are provided for spiritual support and inspiration
  • Generated content should not be considered a substitute for professional counselling, pastoral care, or medical advice
  • We do not guarantee the theological accuracy or doctrinal correctness of AI-generated content
  • You may save, share, and use generated prayers for personal and non-commercial purposes
  • Generated prayers are subject to daily rate limits

4. Prayer Wall & Community Guidelines

The Prayer Wall is a moderated community space. By posting, you agree to:

  • Submit only genuine prayer requests and supportive content
  • Not post spam, advertising, or commercial content
  • Not post hateful, abusive, threatening, or discriminatory content
  • Not post content that mocks or ridicules religious faith
  • Not attempt to manipulate or exploit the AI moderation system
  • Respect the privacy and dignity of others

All submissions are screened by AI moderation before publication. Content may be approved, rejected, or held for human review. We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion.

By posting publicly on the Prayer Wall, you grant Prayerist a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your prayer request on the site. Anonymous posts will be displayed without identifying information.

5. Prayer Journal

Your Prayer Journal content is private and belongs to you. We do not access, share, or publish your journal entries. You may delete your journal content at any time.

6. Newsletter

By subscribing to our Daily Prayer newsletter, you consent to receive emails from Prayerist. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

7. Intellectual Property

All original content on Prayerist (site design, curated prayer texts, articles, images) is the property of Prayerist or its content contributors and is protected by copyright law.

Many prayers in our library are in the public domain. Where applicable, attribution is provided.

You may share prayers from our library for personal, non-commercial use with attribution to Prayerist.com.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the site without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the site’s operation
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use automated tools to submit excessive requests to the AI Prayer Companion

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Prayerist is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The site will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • AI-generated content will be theologically perfect or appropriate for all situations
  • The site will meet your specific requirements

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Prayerist shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or services, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be announced on the site.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sweden.
