Prayer For Peaceful Sleep
Dear Lord,
Sometimes it's so hard to sleep well.
My mind is so active, it is difficult to settle.
My body feels almost to tired to rest.
Yet I know you have created me to stop,
To switch off and be still.
So I ask for your heavenly hand to be on me tonight.
May this night be a restful one.
May I greet the morning with a restored mind, heart and body.
Tonight I hold onto your peace and trust in you.
Amen.
Father,
As I lay down to sleep, I hold your hand.
Your hand is my comfort and my strength.
Strength to put down my concerns and fears,
Fears that steal peace, are not from you.
You are a loving Father with whom I feel safe.
Safe to rest, to let go and be at peace.
Peace is a gift, from you, and a promise.
Promises are my daily bread, so I will lay down to sleep,
Sleep within you care.
Amen.
O heavenly Father, you gave your children sleep for the refreshing of soul and body: Grant me this gift, I pray; keep me in that perfect peace which you have promised to those whose minds are fixed on you; and give me such a sense of your presence, that in the hours of silence I may enjoy the blessed assurance of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O Lord support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen and the evening come, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then, in thy mercy, grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen
Lord, I don't know what lay before me tomorrow and this week, but I commit it all to you. Please give me strength and courage to get through the joys, challenges and happenings of the day. I thank you for my life and for all that I have; I commit this day to you. No matter what happens, I know you have me in the palm of your hand. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
Lord, help me to focus tomorrow on what really matters. I'm so grateful for another day. Please help me to keep that spirit of gratitude as I face the ebbs and flows of life; help me to see the good in the bad and the happy in the sad. Renew my spirit. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Abba Father, in our intimacy with you, and only you, we find rest. We give you thanks for this day and for your grace in the morning and your mercies in the night. We thank you for your healing and your peace. Amen
Lord, give us generous spirits in this time when fear has prompted selfishness and hoarding. Remind us of our firm foundation in You; let us not be shaken. Bring to our remembrance Your mighty acts recorded in scripture as well as demonstrated in personal experiences. Let us not fear, but let our hearts be steadfast, trusting in You. Let us abide in You, standing on your promise that joy that comes in the morning. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! Amen.
