Prayer For My Troubled Son
LORD, KEEP MY FAITH BURNING BRIGHT. I BELIEVE IN YOU AND I BELIEVE IN YOUR POWER AND LOVE, BUT SOMETIMES I AM TEMPTED TO ACT IN YOUR STEAD. I HURT SO MUCH WATCHING MY SON DESTROY HIMSELF. GRANT ME FAITH, SO THAT I MAY RECEIVE YOUR GRACE AND ACT AS YOUR INSTRUMENT OF LOVE.
Father, when I give in to the bad behavior to keep things from escalating. I know this only teaches my child that the behavior is ok. Give me the power to handle the situation at the very moment it happens.
I pray for your hand of protection upon my child's heart and mind and that you will bring us closer together as a family. May we grow in our walk with you and glorify you in all that we do.
I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
We ask that you send angels in sufficient rank, number, power and authority to fight any demons off and away from (name) so that in this very moment, the Holy Spirit may come down upon him/her, interrupting his/her day, and convict his/her heart. May the loving touch of Your Heavenly grace enable him/her to turn back to You.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the blessing of parenthood and the joy that comes with having children. We are grateful for growth and learning that comes with Godly discipline and teachings.
Forgive us, Lord, when we are frazzled and feel like giving up from bad behavior in our children. Sometimes we reach the end of our ropes and our anger, and lack of patience rears their ugly heads in sinful ways. Father, when satan tries to rob our relationship with our children through unruly behavior or rebellion, equip us to step in immediately with a firm yet loving hand. Enable and guide us to discipline our children according to your teachings.
Merciful Father, we implore You to pour Your mercy out upon (name). Father forgive him/her for he/she knows not what he/she does. May our prayers and sacrifices, united to Christ and perfected in His image, be lifted up to You as a perfect offering on behalf of our child. May these prayers also be laid before the Most Immaculate Heart of Mary so that she may intercede on behalf of (name). Lord, we trust that You will not deny a request of Your Mother Mary and so we entrust our child to her completely.
May he know that he has been rescued from darkness and brought into the light of the Son. Protect him from the attacks of the evil one as he wears the full armor of God. May he choose to walk in the light, and to let that shine brightly to all around. (1 Peter 2:9; Ephesians 6:10-18; Ephesians 5:8)
May he fall more in love with Jesus every day. May he love God above all else. May that love not grow cold or even lukewarm, but remain fire-hot! And may Your love in him flow through him to everyone in his life. (Mark 12:30; Revelation 2:4; John 15:12-13)
Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. I thank you for your divine blessings in my life. I thank You Father for my teenage son. Your Word says, that before You formed my son in the womb, you knew him. Father, help my teenage son to understand the authority that you have place inside of him. Help him to not accept negative talk, negative actions, negative deeds over His life, but help him to recognize the Christ-like identity' that You have placed inside him.
