Prayer For Inspiration And Guidance
Lord Jesus Christ, when I am uncertain about what I should do, show me your ways. When I don't know which way to turn, teach me your paths. In everything I do, I ask you to guide me. My hope is found in you from the moment I wake up until the moment I fall asleep. You are my Savior. You have rescued me from sin and I ask that you protect me from making sinful choices. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
All-knowing God, your word is living and active. Help me to be attentive to your voice as you guide me through life. Your word is a lamp for my feet. When I don't know where I am going, help me to listen to you and follow the path that you show me. You are a light shining in the darkness. When I don't know which way to turn would you shine the light of your love into the cloud of confusion. Bring clarity to my mind. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Creator God, you made me and you love me. My circumstances do not define me, my identity is as your child. Whatever I do today, your loving eye is on me and you have promised to counsel me. Help me to bring everything in my life before you. When I am uncertain, help me look to you. Instruct me and teach me, Lord, in the way that I should go and the paths that I should take. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
God of all Truth, I spend so much time thinking, planning and worrying about my life. Your word says that, although people plan their course in their hearts, it is you who establishes our steps. Help me to make you the center of my planning. I can do nothing without you giving me the strength to do it. I can plan nothing without you giving me the mind to plan it. The desires of my heart can only be satisfied in you. Direct my steps, Lord, to follow you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Generous Father, you have told me to ask you for whatever I need. You said that if I ask, it will be given. If I seek, I will find. If I knock, the door will be opened to me. I ask you for guidance and direction now, Lord, and pray that you would answer my request. You are a perfectly good Father who only ever gives good gifts to his children. You love to give good gifts to those who ask. As your humble child, I ask for the gift of wisdom today. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Loving Father, please send your Holy Spirit to lead me. You said that your Spirit will teach me all things and guide me into all truth. Remind me of the words of Jesus as I make choices today. When I become overwhelmed with the decisions that are placed before me, please give me the peace that surpasses all understanding. Clear my mind to follow you with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Gracious Heavenly Father, your word says that you will always guide me. You do not leave me wandering through life, but you are with me during every moment of every day. You will satisfy my needs when I feel frustrated and you will strengthen me when life makes me weary. Help me to follow your ways as you lead me into a life of fruitfulness and joy. May I be like the well-watered garden which thrives because the roots are firmly planted in your love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
O Lord my God, help me to trust you with my decisions and my future. Let me lean on you with all my heart instead of relying on my own imperfect understanding. Give me clear guidance in my life, Lord. As I submit myself to you, I know that you will direct my paths and I can have confidence that your direction is always the best way to go.
