Prayer For Controlling Anger

Dear God,

Please help me to have more self-control. Train me Lord, like an athlete to be strong and determined. Feed me with your truth in the scriptures to make me healthy. May I exercise muscles of forgiveness, patience and peacemaking. Lord, increase my stamina to give out to those in need. And may I be freed from past hurts and confusions so that I can run free.

Come fill my life with your resurrection hope!

Amen.

Mighty God, thank you that you give the gift of abundant, eternal life. May my life be free from resentment and filled with thanksgiving and praise for your countless blessings. The Bible teaches that you never fail to provide for your people. Set me free from resentment as I give thanks for your blessings and am assured that you will continue to generously supply my every need. May grace, mercy, and peace be with me, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Son, in truth and love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Sovereign Lord, bring peace to my mind and my heart as I feel angry at the situation I am in. May I take hold of your promise that you will never leave me nor forsake me. In whatever circumstances I face that produce anger in my heart, remind me that you have not left my side and you never will. When you are with me I can trust you to fight my battles, I do not need to allow anger to take control. Give me your peace Father, may it rule over my life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

O Lord, must I fear Your wrath?
Retribution is Yours by right!
May I never dishonour Your Divinity,
My soul seeking to maintain Your love.
Shape my being into earnest kindness,
A reflection of Your perfection.
Grant me the grace of self-control,
That I may not display any anger.
Should I have such an outburst,
Instantly remind me to seek redress,
For such is offensive to You.
Anger is Yours alone to avenge!

O Lord, my God, you are my shepherd. You guide me and provide for me. When I start to feel resentment due to the circumstances around me, remind me that you have prepared a table for me and you can give me peace. Your anointing and blessings are upon every aspect of my life. Remove my resentment and set me free from frustration. May your goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life that I may dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

God,

I am so tied up inside, my heart is almost frozen with anger, my mind is really obsessed by it and my soul feels in chaos. Yet you teach us to ask, and so I ask you for help for release from these feelings. I do not know how to move on, but I do know I need your spirit to work within me.
Help me to somehow express the depth of these thoughts and the power of these feelings. Help me to accept your love once again in my heart, that I may come alive again, free from the chains of this anger.

Amen.

O Lord, I'm sorry that anger rises so often in my heart. I feel such pressure at work and home. Sometimes I can feel as though I'm balancing on a knife's edge, I'm about to fall. Sometimes I don't have the resources to meet each demand. Sometimes I resent colleagues, family and friends My temper cracks and I fall into wrath. Sometimes I feel disappointed in myself, I feel so cross when I get things wrong or fail. I know you understand. You see all I am, the good and the bad. Your love can flood these angry moments. Help me to pray, to look to you, To take a step back and calm down. Help me to breathe out, to re-fuel, And to rest. Often a gentle hug, a kind word, or even a drink or snack is all I need to reset. Please step in when I feel anger surging again, And remind me of these things. I trust in you. Amen.
