Prayer For Confirmation Parent Meeting

Lord, give us the wisdom and the courage to help our children as you would
to develop in them a Christ-like love for all people

To nurture in them a desire to give and not simply to take
to teach them to be doers of Your Holy Word.

Guide us in our parental responsibilities strengthen our love as a family
so that we may work together in coming closer to You.

May we be the expression of Your love to our children
so that each day will be as today

Your love received and shared
to help us be one in the Body of Christ.

Amen.

Loving God,
You are the giver of all we possess,
the source of all of our blessings.
We thank and praise you.

Thank you for the gift of our children.

Help us to set boundaries for them,
and yet encourage them to explore.
Give us the strength and courage to treat
each day as a fresh start.

May our children come to know you, the one true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

May your Holy Spirit help them to grow
in faith, hope, and love,
so they may know peace, truth, and goodness.

May their ears hear your voice.
May their eyes see your presence in all things.
May their lips proclaim your word.
May their hearts be your dwelling place.
May their hands do works of charity.
May their feet walk in the way of Jesus Christ,
your Son and our Lord.
Amen.

Holy living God, You call these parents and guardians, To be the living presence
Of your love for their children. You entrust them with the development and nurturing

Lord God, we thank you for calling us to be Jesus' disciples. We ask you to bless this retreat
today. Inspire our speakers with your truth, your love and your joy. Make us receptive to their
message; may it take root in our hearts and increase our joy as we await the fullness of your Holy
Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son. Amen.
And may Almighty God bless us: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

God our Father, you knew us before we were born. You called us at Baptism to
be witnesses of your love for us in Christ. Prepare our hearts and minds today to welcome the
gifts of your Holy Spirit, that we may become everything you desire us to be as your sons and
daughters in Christ. We make this prayer to you in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.
