Prayer For Women's Day
Lord, bless women everywhere. We pray especially for all those mothers, grandmothers and sisters who work to care for family members in need while forging their own paths in life. May their loving hearts and nurturing spirits be blessed with strength and joy. We ask this in your holy name. Amen.
O mother, O sister, O wife, O woman,
Relinquish, what holds you back,
The onus is onto your shoulders,
To show the right path to those who have lost their way,
The onus to take forward the message of God,
Is onto your shoulders,
You are the one, who can make the difference,
If you obey the voice of your heart,
You can conquer the doubts that put you down
For you will for sure transform,
As with each passing day, God within you increase!
Rise up, O woman,
Get the sword in your hands,
Dare to make your home in the sand,
Take up the challenge to end,
End the struggle that you had,
Unlock the unfathomable power within,
Show to the world, the immeasurable potency,
Leave the rest and create the best,
Because that's where you belong to, o woman
Awake, O powerhouse of faith,
Awake, O woman you are born to take,
Everything that God has bestowed upon,
Everything God has filled in your heart,
The tremendous power to win the hearts,
The amazing shower of love that you inspire,
And the unbelievable art of making everything true,
Unlock the power, that God has given you,
Prove your worth, prove your existence,
This one is an opportunity to make it a truth,
God of all, God of hope,
We pray for women and girls today.
That they will be all they can be.
Give us courage to speak and work
For equality and justice
Until the earth is filled
With righteousness and love.

Loving God, you have heard the cries of your suffering people. Open our eyes to see the immensity of your love for us and the wonder of what you have done for us. Give us the courage to be your hands and heart for those who are in pain. Give us the wisdom to speak out for justice and righteousness. May your will be done in us today and always. AMEN.
Lord Jesus
I pray for women from South Sudan who have fled their country with their families.
I pray that in the midst of turmoil, you will bring peace, in the midst of uncertainty.
I pray you will bring hope and in the midst of desperation, you will bring an answer to their prayers.
I thank you that TEAR gets to help in these hard places as we work alongside our Christian partners and pray that we will see these precious daughters of yours flourish, even in these uncertain times.
Lord protect our sisters, and give them refuge.

Creator God,
We give you thanks for the huge progress that has been made to increase levels of education for women and girls, and that far fewer women now face complications or death in childbirth.
We also give thanks that around the globe we see women of initiative and courage who together and as individuals are starting businesses and exercising greater say over how money is spent within their homes.
God of hope and love, we know too that many women and girls still face challenges in their communities to take an equal place in community or household decision-making.
We pray that change would happen, and that we will see women and men, boys and girls, living, working, and striving together, as equals, sharing the gifts, skills and wisdom you have given each of us, to bring about real change in the lives of our families, communities and nations. Amen.
