Prayer For Protection From Evil
Our Father, You showed us what true sacrificial love is and You desire for us to express that same love to others. As we lovingly care for others, I pray that our sacrificial deeds will not be taken advantage of and that we will not be targeted for the exploitation of our kindness. Please do not allow anyone to try to unfairly benefit from our love and effort. Instead, lead us to people who are also kind and sincere in their motives and actions. Amen.
Father, You warned us that we will suffer just as You did. That because of our faith and principles, we will be insulted, persecuted and falsely accused of various wicked things. Keep us, O Lord, from dishonoring Your name by fighting back against such abuses. Constantly remind us how You received far worse persecution than any we have experienced. Surround us with Your love and empowerment, so that we will be able to respond honorably. Give us the strength to bless our persecutors, knowing You have already blessed us. Amen.
All-powerful Lord, You have triumphed over the devil. You have put his power to shame with Your mere word. In You, he cannot harm us. In You, he has no power over us. May we remember that always. Spare us from his oppressive ways that discourage or depress us. Free and shield us from wicked thoughts that incite and provoke us to think and commit evil. Clothe us, O Lord, with Your holy armor, that we may be able to stand against his schemes and resist his attacks. Amen.
Dear Lord, You commanded us to refrain from any unwholesome talk. You desire that we use words that build others up for the benefit of everyone listening. Teach us to be always mindful of our words and to keep a tight rein on our tongues. When people talk behind our backs or slander us, guide our words that we may continue to be a blessing with our conversations. Give us the strength to show kindness so that we can glorify You with our response. Amen.
Holy God, I surrender to You my heart and my mind for cleansing. I know You desire for us to love You wholeheartedly and willfully. Keep my mind from evil thoughts. Steer it away from the influences of wicked imaginations. Help me take every thought of mine captive to Your obedience, that I may experience joy in You. Put a hedge of protection around my mind. Help me will my thoughts to dwell on what is good, true, and positive. Amen.
God of Mercy, You are the God of Justice. You have declared vengeance to be Yours. Teach us to restrain our desire to retaliate, knowing that meting just recompense upon our offenders belongs to You alone. Prevent us from taking revenge for You have commanded us to never repay evil with evil. Help us to trust and leave everything into Your hands. May we gather strength to show kindness instead, that we can be a testimony of Your goodness. Amen.
Generous Father, You have commanded us to never put our hope in wealth for the love of money is the root of all evil. You give us every chance to find contentment in You, for You promise to meet our needs. Teach us, I pray, to temper our desires for material things. Give us the strength to remove all holds of greed and all covetousness in our hearts. Bless us, O Lord, with the steadfastness and contentment to trust Your promises and be joyful in Your provisions. Amen.
Lord, You have said that self-centeredness is the cause of much confusion and every evil thing, and You have warned us that self-love will be embraced by many. Make us fully realize the evils of self-centeredness and guide us that we may watch ourselves from this vile attitude. Teach us true selflessness and let us learn from Your loving sacrifice on the cross. Allow us to see how important others are and how we should also look after their interests. Help us to selflessly meet the needs of others before our own. Amen.
