Prayer For Pet

Beloved God, Help me to understand that you are/were with me, by my side, helping me to make the
humane decision to end the suffering of my beloved pet. Help me to forgive myself, as you forgive me
lovingly each day for my shortcomings, knowing my heart. Help me to understand that it is good and
noble to have the courage to face such a difficult decision and to make them despite how much it hurts
to do so. Help me to realize that, as my decision was made from love, there is no reason for me to hang
onto the heavy burden of guilt that I feel at times. Help me to realize that, as you have sent us our
beloved pets to be our guardians, we are their guardians in return and are responsible for their every
need - including their need to be free of pain and suffering. Help me to realize that our life together was
a blessing from you and that is you who called them home to Heaven, and that I only took them to the
door, where you gratefully and lovingly welcomed them home. Amen.

Beloved Lord, Bless this dear one that has given so much love for so long. Bless them, that they are given
comfort as their time draws near; that they are able to stay in their home with their familiar things and
with their human family, that they so love until that time comes. We pray that although they are aging
now and draw closer to their time left here in this physical world, that they would be free from pain and
suffering and that they will continue to feel joy and our love. We ask your blessings that when the time
comes that are called home, that each day left with us is one of quiet love and peaceful companionship.
We thank you for the time you have given us with our pet and for your grace in allowing our pet to stay
so long here on this earth and to richly bless our lives. In Jesus name, we thank you and ask these things.
Amen.

Praised be You, my Lord, through our Sister Bodily Death,
from whom no one living can escape,
not even those most precious to us.
Yet we live in the hope that every creature which God has made will share in that time when all things will be made new. Amen

Lord God, when You created the universe you blessed us with all living creatures. We especially thank you for giving us our pets who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life. Their presence very often helps us get through trying times. Kindly bless my pet. May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power. May we realize that as our pets trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us, and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all creatures. Amen.

Heavenly Father, how great the variety of living things, You have put at our disposal! You told our first parents: "I give you all the animals of the land." Bless this animal. May it carry out the function it has been given and may it aid us to think of You its Creator and give praise and thanks to You forever. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

O God, every animal, in every forest, field, and home, belongs to you, and is under your loving care. May your blessing be upon this cat/dog and in your steadfast kindness. Keep (him, her) safe from all harm. We pray that you would show forth your eternal love and mercy, in the companionship and friendship that this cat/dog provides. Amen.

In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God, when You created the Universe You blessed us with all living creatures. We especially thank You for giving us our pets who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life. Their presence very often helps us get through trying times. Kindly bless my pet. May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.

May we realize that as our pets trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us, and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures. Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals, especially for animals who are suffering; for any who are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry; for all that must be put to sleep. We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity, and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words. Make us be true friends to animals and so to share the blessing of the merciful.
