Prayer For Peace In The Middle East

God of Compassion,
Hear the cries of the people of Syria,
Bring healing to those suffering from the violence,
Bring comfort to those mourning the dead,
Strengthen Syria's neighbours in their care and welcome for refugees,
Convert the hearts of those who have taken up arms,
And protect those committed to peace.

God of Hope,
Inspire leaders to choose peace over violence and to seek reconciliation with enemies,
Inspire the Church around the world with compassion for the people of Syria,
And give us hope for a future of peace built on justice for all.

We ask this through Jesus Christ,
Prince of Peace and Light of the World,
Amen.

God of mercy,
Pour out your peace upon us all.
Watch over our brothers and sisters in Syria,
especially those who have fled their homes.
Lead them to a place of safety
and bring comfort to those who mourn.

Inspire us all to share the light of your hope,
and to reach out in a spirit of compassion.
Make us channels of your peace,
so all your children may live
free from fear, conflict and pain.

We ask this through Christ our Lord, Prince of Peace, Amen.

Dear God, I pray You will be put in Your rightful position in this country. Give the leaders of this nation the wisdom and integrity to lead our nation in the best direction. Give each one discernment I pray, when making decisions or drawing up the legislation and laws that they pass. And may the decisions that they reach be godly and wise.

As the days become increasingly dark in our country, I pray that the light of Your love will shine on this land. May peace reign in our nation and protect us from those that would seek our downfall, I pray.

I really thank You that you have placed me in this land and I am grateful that I am a citizen of this nation. Thank You, Lord, for my country. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you that the book of Jonah tells
us that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to
anger and abounding in love.'
We bring before you the people of Iraq and the wider Middle
East in the knowledge that you love and care for them deeply.
We ask you to pour out your comfort and healing on
all who are grieving, fearful and traumatised, and bring peace
to their countries so that they can begin rebuilding their lives.
Thank you that you hear our cries for help. Amen.

Loving Lord Jesus, thank you that you are mindful of
our physical as well as our emotional and spiritual needs,
and that you reached out to heal all who came to you in
Tyre and Sidon.
We lift up those in urgent need of food, water, shelter,
sanitation and medical care in the Middle East, praying that
aid will reach all who require it.
Please bless and protect the people who are being your
hands and feet in the region by coming alongside those who
are vulnerable and hurting. Amen.

Lord of the fatherless, the widow and the outsider, we
thank you for the countries that have welcomed people in
need of refuge.
We pray that you will bless these host communities, and that
there will be sufficient supplies and services to meet both
their own needs and those of the people they are sheltering.
We ask that love, compassion and respect will flow between
different people groups as they mix together.
We pray for wisdom for those in authority as they seek a
solution to the conflicts across the Middle East. Amen.

Merciful God, we pray for peace to rule our hearts and that of the people in Middle East. Teach us to follow Your example, to care and show compassion to people in need. Give us the strength to help lift the fallen and give them hope.

Amen

God of All,
Protector and Redeemer,
Watch over the people of the Middle East
As their [our] nations face struggle and strife,
In these lands and on these borders.
Grant safety to their [our] citizens and residents,
Visitors and guests,
During moments of unrest.
Grant wisdom and courage to national leaders
Throughout the region.
Grant insight to their advisors
And understanding to their friends.
Lead them on a path toward justice.
Direct them on the road to freedom.
Guide them on the way to prosperity.
Make them all shining lights of peace. Amen
