Prayer For Patience And Understanding

Guard my mouth that I don't spread gossip or hearsay to alarm others. Help me to exhibit love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Like the apostle Paul, may I learn the secret of being content in all circumstances, knowing that I can do all things through you who gives me strength to fulfill your desires. Praise you Lord, Amen.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.

Dear Lord,

I am going through a very complicated relationship and I want to have the energy and strength to get out or understand how to handle it. I want what is best for us. I know we make each other happy at times but at other times it's really hard on us both. I want to have a successful work work and pray that you soften his heart and pride to be open and honest with me.

I should not have said some mean things to him and truly sorry from the bottom of my heart but this relationship has consumed me for over a year and I am exhausted. I love him and always will. Please give us both patience and understanding where we don't end up hurting one another.

Help us to understand the gravity and weight of the words, When I am afraid, I will trust in You. (Psalm 56:3) May the Holy Spirit move through us and remove our fear in testing moments of trial, and usher in a renewed faith and trust, just as the reminder of Your Word. For, In God, whose Word I praise I will not be afraid. Your Word has power when faithfully proclaimed over our situations and fears.

Bless our hearts to be established in Christ, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. (James 5:8) May we ever be reminded of His sacrifice for us, and the love for us that drove Him there. That same love promises never to leave us, and to provide the patient endurance we need to stand up under trials of patience. None of them will last forever, but eternity with our Savior will.

Praise You, Father!

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

Dear Lord, please help me to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Help me to listen for understanding. Help my words to build instead of tear down. Help my attitude to be of peace, not of anger. I pray this in Jesus's name, amen.

Dear Lord, please help me.

I lay before you my tiredness and ask for new energy.
I lay before you my frustration and ask for more patience.
I lay before you my resentment and ask for peace.
I lay before you my judgement and ask for inspired understanding.
I lay before you my anger and long to be forgiving.

Please help me, dear Lord.

Maker of all things, as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are Your ways higher than my ways, and Your thoughts than my thoughts. I pray for understanding so that I may walk in Your ways rather than my own ways and think in Your thoughts rather than my own thoughts. My way of thinking is limited, and my ways are immature and irresponsible. I thank You in advance for giving me understanding so that I can be more like You. Amen.

Mighty Warrior, I know that You will fight for me; I need only to be still. I pray that I remain patient because You are in full control of my battles. I know that I will have the victory because You fight for me and You never lose a battle. Increase my understanding when life becomes difficult, increase my trust in my trials. Let all my steps be guided by a patient heart. Amen.
