Prayer For Patience In A Relationship

Thank you that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Thank you that you care for us. Thank you that the peace of your loving and strong presence guards and protects our hearts and minds in you. Thank you that we do not have to walk in fear or live in overwhelmed cycles of worry and stress. Thank you for your voice that breaks through the greatest wind and storm swirling around us, and whispers Peace, be still. Thank you that you sent your One and Only Son to set us free. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, Thank you for your steadfastness and continual presence in our lives. Sometimes, we can feel you right next to us. But sometimes, it is hard to know that you are there at all. Sometimes life gets so difficult that our hearts just cannot feel you through the pain. Sometimes you take away those feelings so that we may seek you even more fervently. I pray today, Father, that I may rely not on my own feelings but rather on your love for me. May I rely on your Word to be the truth that rules my life over my own understanding. Help me to see you and believe in your character even though my feelings may tell me otherwise. You are kind, you are good, and you are gracious. You are both all-powerful and all-loving. You care deeply for me and for my loved ones. Be with me as I live out these truths no matter what my circumstances are today, Lord, as we walk forward together. I love you and pray all of these things in your Son's amazing name, Amen.

Father, can I be honest? I am tired of waiting. Waiting is hard, painful, exhausting. But I know that learning to wait well is a beautiful, sanctifying, hope-giving thing. So help me wait well. Help me cling to you as I wait. Please Lord, let your peace rule in my heart. Help me live by your grace each day of this waiting. And help me bring you glory as I wait expectantly. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Dear Lord,

Please help me to see my spouse through your eyes. Please give me a heart of patience toward them, and don't let me become lazy and complacent in my relationship with this precious soul you have placed in my life. Through your strength, help me to show patience for even the sharp edges of their personality.

Amen

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this day you have made. Some of us woke up to a special moment with our spouse, while others may have experienced tension. We pray that no matter what the condition is of our marriage we can lean on you in faith for a deeper love. We pray also for patience. Sometimes our husbands can do things or not do things that triggers negative emotions. We pray that in those times we would be wives of self-control, full of peace, able to have patience and perseverance. Help us to remain calm amidst the storms of life in Jesus name AMEN!

Dear Lord,

I am going through a very complicated relationship and I want to have the energy and strength to get out or understand how to handle it. I want what is best for us. I know we make each other happy at times but at other times it's really hard on us both. I want to have a successful work work and pray that you soften his heart and pride to be open and honest with me.

I should not have said some mean things to him and truly sorry from the bottom of my heart but this relationship has consumed me for over a year and I am exhausted. I love him and always will. Please give us both patience and understanding where we don't end up hurting one another. Amen

Lord, I don't feel humble, gentle, or patient today when it comes to my spouse. It's not just the big thingsalthough they never seem to go awayit's also the little things that pile up and chisel at my smile. Sometimes it's hard to remember the days when the relationship was easy and fun.

Walk between us today. Speak peace into our hearts. Give us an infinite amount of patience when it comes to understanding each other. Draw us back to the days when being together didn't feel so hard. Thank you that there are three people in this relationship, not two. Thank you for cheering on my marriage, not from the sidelines, but from the middle of the field. Amen

Dear loving Father,

You are with me.
You see all that I experience, all that I think
And care for all that I feel.

You are with me.
You see my frustration, all the thoughts that run through my mind
And hold me as I cry.

Thank you, loving Father,
You are with us.
I ask for help with this relationship,
In the knowledge that you love us both.

You are with us.
You, and only you understand the dynamics of what is happening.
May your hand on our lives create reconciliation, forgiveness and peace.

Amen.
