Prayer For Our Son
Lord, thank you for leading our son on this path here to Samford. As you light that lamp
brightly upon his feet, I pray for his inner core to be branded with love, strength and wisdom
from you. Surround him with peers that fear you and lift him up with your love and peaceful
encouragement so that he will grow into being the man you designed him to be.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that anyone who believes in him shall
not perish, but have eternal life.
Father, remind me each day that I can trust you to care for our son, with his heart, his
friendship, his faith and his future. You are worthy of our praise and trust.
I pray that I can find a new path and purpose as a single mom and empty nester for the first
time and that I will look to God to fill the empty, lonely place and entrust all my children,
especially my student here, to his care and perfect path. Amen
Lord, help me to allow you to be the one who cares for our son. Help me to entrust him to you.
I ask you to help him find a group of young men and women who love you and to do life with
them. Help him to manage his physical challenges. May you hold him in your handsevery
detail of his life. Amen
Father, thank you for the gift of our son into our lives. It is my dearest hope for him to hold fast to you and your truth. Oh Lord, keep him close and empower him to live a life of glory to you and your kingdom. Unto you, I release him and trust your love and power. Amen
Oh Lord, I pray for my son/sons who has/have turned from You. Father, Your Words says that I can cast my burdens upon You because You care for me. Right now, God You know the burden we carry to see our loved ones return back to You. Help them to remember Your Love and that You gave Your only Son for their sins. Father, I thank You that there are no limits to Your power and that You came to set the captives free. Set our son/sons free in Jesus's holy name. Amen.
Dear Father, as my son/sons is/are now grown, I pray that they may walk after You, fear You and keep Your commands. Help them to obey Your voice. I pray that he/they will serve You and hold fast to You. I pray that You will grant my son/sons a Joshua spirit, in that they will be strong and courageous and of good courage and they will observe to do according to all You have commanded, in Jesus's beautiful name. Amen.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Father, we seek the guidance of your Holy Spirit in the
business that is before us.
In planning for the future, give us vision;
in matters of finance, give us responsibility;
in dealing with people, give us love.
Help us, and all Christians whatever their settings and
circumstances,
in all things to honour your name, to advance your kingdom,
and to carry out your will.
