Prayer For Opening Of School Year
As we begin a new school year we ask for your help and pray your blessing on
everybody in this school.
Show us how to work together for the good of all.
May we share our talents and abilities to the full and grow in knowledge,
wisdom and happiness.
Give us the grace to become more like Jesus in the ways we think and behave.
During this school year let us become builders of your ways and instruments of
your peace.
We ask this school year blessing through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
Lord God, your Spirit of wisdom fills our lives and teaches us your ways. Look
upon our young people. May they enjoy their learning and take delight in new
discoveries. Help them to persevere in their studies and give them the desire to
learn all things well.
Look upon our teachers. May they strive to share their knowledge with gentle
patience and endeavour always to bring the truth to eager minds. Amen
Loving God, at the beginning of this new school year we ask you to bless us,
the students, our teachers and staff of this school, that together we may grow
in faith, hope and love as we learn from you and each other how to follow
your Son, Jesus.
May the blessing of the Holy Trinity go with us today. May God's strength keep us secure. May Christ our true Wisdom guide our learning. May the Holy Spirit make us glad and good. May the enfolding of the Trinity hold us and bring us, at day's end, safely home. Amen.
Lord Jesus, we ask for Your help as we begin this new school year. Allow us to experience Your presence in the many blessings You put before us. Open our eyes to the new challenges and exciting opportunities that this new school year brings. Open our heart and mind to new friends and new teachers. Give us a generous spirit to be enthusiastic with our studies and courage to accept new opportunities. Help us to be attentive to one another and let us experience Your presence in our new friends. Jesus, inspire us to do our best this year! Amen
Lord, I pray that You would be with them and that You would be there every moment of the day to care and protect. Take away any fears or concerns they may have, and develop in them a desire to make new and exciting discoveries.
Give the teachers wisdom and grace to help and cherish each child so that they may settle down and enjoy all that comes with constructive learning. I pray that my own precious little one will make friends and not feel lonely.
Help me Lord, not to be concerned, but to leave my child in Your hands, knowing that You have promised to be there every moment of the day. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Let this school year be their best year ever with excellent grades, favor with teachers and classmates and good behavior all covered by Your protection. Enable our children to continue growing in wisdom and stature all the days of their lives. Let Your peace and understanding envelope them at all times. Let your joy be their strength. Help them to trust You as their refuge and fortress. Guard their minds from bad counsel and peer pressure. Bless them with Your Spirit of discernment to know and do what is right at all times. Strengthen their heart and spirit to resist the devil, so that he/she will flee from them. Teach them to cast all their anxiety upon You, trusting and genuinely knowing that You care for them. Let Your light shine in their lives and cause all forms of darkness around them to flee. Make them strong and courageous in the presence of danger. Let them be assured You will never leave nor forsake them as they remain strong in You and Your mighty power. In Jesus name I/we pray, Amen.
Today I pray for Your care and protection throughout the school year. Cover the schools in our area and across the nation with Your covering and protection. I/we pray for vigilance among administrators and teachers as well as security personnel. Lord I/we pray that would-be perpetrators will be turned from their intentions and receive the corrective influences that are needed in their lives. Lord, I/we pray that the school year will be successfully completed without incident. It is so. In Jesus name I/we pray, Amen.
