Prayer For Newborns
May Mary be her guide and support,
calming her fears and strengthening her love.
May your daughter be filled with your peace and blessing, good health so that she may bring her child into this world, safely and in to the praise and glory of your name. Amen.
All loving God,
you created the human family
as a reflection of your own divine life
so that your creation might share in your happiness.
Hear our prayer for your daughter
who awaits the birth of her child.
She has cooperated with you in giving life.
Assist her now as she prepares to give birth
to the child in her womb.
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
When I saw your baby, I thought of many beautiful words to describe the beauty before my eyes but I found known. I am so happy for you.
The birth of your newborn will usher you into a new phase of your life. Now you are no longer just man and wife. Maturity and wisdom will envelop your behavior and personalities forever. Now you have become a loving mother and a responsible father. Congratulations.
Jehovah Rapha, my Healer, I pray for the health of my newborn baby. At such a young age my child is more vulnerable to sicknesses due to a weak immune system. But I pray Your word over my child. I pray that my child prospers and will be in good health, just as his/her soul prospers. I pray good health into my child's life, both physically and spiritually. Amen.
Awesome God, hallelujah to Your name! I praise You because You have blessed me with something so precious. I pray for protection over my newborn baby's life. I pray that my baby will be set apart from the world. I pray that he/she will not be satisfied by the things of the world, but my baby's joy will be found in You. Fill him/her with the joy of the Lord as his/her strength. Amen.
