Prayer For Newborn Baby Boy
Gentle Shepherd,
What a mystery it is that you entrust each and every generation to the next. Fragile life is somehow brought into the world through a woman's body, and then placed in her arms- utterly dependent on her for survival.
While she is still exhausted from giving birth, the next phase of grueling labor begins as You unleash torrents of hormones in her body to prepare it to nourish the child.
It is a very good thing that You place an even more powerful force within a mother to carry her through it all- You give her a mother's heart.
Have mercy on this mother today. Heal and strengthen her body. Calm her mind and heart with your peace.
May it be your will, oh great, mighty and awesome God, that the merits of this poor woman who is trembling and crying out in her pains of childbirth, be remembered before you." After the birth, an attendant washes and prays on behalf of the infant, with words of gratitude for life.
The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you (Ephesians 1 v 18). More than anything else, your baby needs to know the certain eternal hope of a future with Christ. This is the most important thing you can pray for them. You probably know this, but it's so very easy to pray for health/happiness/a good night's sleep instead.
The kind of space your baby boy will take up in your heart, will make you wonder how you never knew it was there in the first place. Congratulations.

God of Enduring Faithfulness, I place our new baby before You right now and ask for a divine shield around his/her life. Let his/her life be free from the love of money. I do earnestly pray that our baby will be content with what he/she has, for You have said I will never leave you nor forsake you. Lord, You are faithful to Your people. I pray that our baby grows deeply rooted in an unshakable faith in You. Amen.
Beautiful One, I know that my baby is filled with power because he/she is Your child. I pray that this power will not be destroyed by the world. The days are evil, and the enemy seeks to destroy Your people in manipulative and intentional ways! I pray that You watch over my baby's coming and going, both now and forevermore, so that my baby will always be safe. I pray that my baby will be safe from the plans of the enemy. I know that You will keep my baby on Your righteous path. Amen.
