Prayer For Natural Disaster

Father, You have not abandoned them for even a second! Let them see You in every open door, every glass of water, every kind smile, and every gentle grasp. Provide love for them through friends, family, and strangers. Go before these victims of tragedy, paving their way in graciousness.

Motivate Your people to love generously, as an act of love to You (Matthew 25:34-40). Open our own hearts towards them in sacrificial generosity and make us our brother's keepereven if it's a brother we've never met.

Please care for these victims' physical needs and provide them their daily bread. Let them not worry about what they'll eat or drink or wear, but trust that You see them and care deeply for them (Matthew 6:26). Let them seek You, and lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10). In times of their deep need, give them the strength to endure anything (Philippians 4:13).

Lord Jesus, Prince of peace, we draw near to you and pray.
As you intercede for us before the throne, so we come on behalf of those in need.
You calmed the raging storm, and so we ask you to still the restless hearts of those in pain.
Bring your peace to troubled places.
Jesus Christ, who calmed the wind and storm,
Hear our prayer and bring your calm amidst chaos.

God of wind and water, stillness and storm,
your Spirit sweeps over the surface of the sea.
Give us faith to seek you in times of trouble.
Reach out your hand to us when we are sinking
so that we may believe and worship you;
through Jesus Christ, Sovereign and Savior.

Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your feet from being snared. Proverbs 3:25-36

I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us. Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord's sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate. O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.

Lord, yet our youth are abandoning the faith in unprecedented numbers. While we ignore
Your command to preach the gospel, those who serve false gods zealously proselytize,
trapping millions in eternal darkness and confusion. We have been complacent, apathetic,
lazy, disobedient, and unfaithful to Your call (Mt 5:14-16).
You charge us to be salt to our culture, to preserve truth and all that is godly and pure.
Yet we have allowed the rot of godless media and entertainment to fill our homes. Instead
of permeating our culture with vital Biblical truth, instead of filling our homes, churches,
schools, businesses, halls of government, and thus our nation with eternal truth and
reality, we have allowed them to be infected by lies and spiritual darkness. Instead of
changing the world, the world has changed us.
