Prayer For Nature

We pray for all those who suffer as a result of our waste,

greed and indifference,

And we pray that the day would come when everyone has enough

food and clean water.

Help us to respect the rights of all people and all species

And help us to willingly share your gifts

Today and always. Amen.

Grant us, Lord,

the grace to see Your beauty and likeness

in created things

that we may follow St. Francis

in showing care for creation.

Amen.

Praised be You, my Lord,

with all Your creatures,

especially Sir Brother Sun who is the day,

and through whom You give us light.Praised be You, my Lord,

through Sister Moon and the stars,

Brother Wind,

Sister Water

and Brother Fire.

May the waters flow peacefully; may the herbs and plants grow peacefully; may all the divine powers bring unto us peace. May the rain come down in the proper time, may the earth yield plenty of corn, may the country be free from war. The supreme Lord is peace.

Holy Spirit, our helper and our comforter, we draw near to and pray.
As you intercede for us with groans that words cannot explain, so we pray on behalf of those in need.
You are our support and comfort, bringing peace beyond our understanding and so we ask you to be the steadfast truth in the minds of those in shock
Bring your comfort in confusion and commotion.
Holy Spirit, our comforter and helper,
Hear our prayer and bring your calm amidst chaos.

Through the silence of nature,

I attain Thy divine peace.

Oh sublime nature,

in thy stillness let my heart rest.

Thou art patiently awaiting the moment

to manifest through the silence of sublime nature.

Oh nature sublime, speak to me through silence,

for I am awaiting in silence like you the call of God.

Oh nature sublime,

through thy silence I hear Thy cry.

My heart is tuned to the quietness,

that the stillness of nature inspires.

Lord, help us to maintain a reverent attitude towards nature, threatened from all sides today, in such a way that we may restore it completely to the condition of brother/sister and to its role of usefulness to all humankind for the glory of God the Creator.

We come against all forces that are wrong. And Father, we pray with our understanding as best we know
how. We're instructed to do so. Yet we sense in our spirit that our spirits have not prayed as they would
like. We remember that Paul said that if I pray in an unknown tongue, MY spirit prayeth, MY spirit, by
the Holy Spirit within me prayeth. So the great, mighty Spirit of God dwells in us. He is our Helper. He is
our Counselor. He is our Advocate. He is our Intercessor. He is our Standby. He will help us.
We trust Him to help us to pray in this area and about our nation, and the leaders, and all that are in
authority. Help us to pray as we ought to pray, and about things that we don't even know to pray. And so
we trust Him.
He will give us utterance. And we will pray and intercede and give thanks in the Spirit.
