Prayer For My Mom Before Surgery
"Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion"
You are fully trustworthy. You are All Powerful. You are Able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are Healer and will never waste the grief we carry today. You will use all things for good in some way. Anything is possible with you. Nothing is too difficult for you.
Dear God, Some days feel too hard. We're hurting. Struggling. Fighting fear and worry at every turn. Thank you in the midst of it all, you haven't left us to fend for ourselves. Forgive us for doubting you are there. Forgive us for thinking you've forgotten. Forgive us for believing we somehow know the better way.
We pray you give mom strength. Help her to see in every mundane task the eternal, cosmic significance that you place on motherhood. Help her to understand that the most radical, world-changing events may be happening anonymously in her home. Help her to forgive those who undermine her significance.
I confess that I have lost my patience and have not been kind to her. It is difficult to remember that she is suffering from a disease. She isn't being difficult, on purpose. She pushes me away and I become defensive, even angry at her. Give me the grace to see her woundedness and to love her with your own compassion.

I thank you that she gave me life and nurtured me all those years. She gave me my faith, helping me to know you and to know Jesus and his ways. She taught me how to love and how to sacrifice for others. She taught me that it was okay to cry and that I should always tell the truth.
Bless her with the graces she needs and which you want to give her today. Help her to feel precious in your eyes today and to know that I love her. Give her strength and courage, compassion and peace.
We pray that as our mother faces this surgery that Your peace, which passes human understanding would guard her heart and her mind so that she is enabled to rest in Your unchanging love and not be disturbed or upset by all that is happening.
Be with us too as we await the outcome of the operation and may we all experience Your sufficient grace and keep our eyes looking to Jesus, knowing that He has promised to be with us through every problem of life thank You in Jesus name,

Loving Lord and Father of all comfort, I come to You in the name of Jesus, to lay my mother at your feet, knowing that she has been so unwell for such a long time. I ask Lord, that You heal her of whatever it is that is troubling her. Free her I pray, from the pain and confusion she is going through, and restore her to full health and strength, for You are the God Who heals and cares.
Thank You that You love and care and comfort all Your children, and I ask that You will give my dear mother the peace in heart that only You can give. May she know that underneath are Your everlasting arms of comfort and that You have promised never to leave her or forsake her.
Help my dear mother speedily I pray, and I will give you all the praise and glory due to Your name.
