Prayer For Liturgy Committee Meeting
Mighty God, thank you that you hear and answer our prayers. Hear our prayer and be in the midst of our meeting today. Thank you that your presence calms the troubled sea of life and speaks peace to our souls. Give us clear minds and peaceful hearts as we gather together. According to your abundant mercy, you have caused us to be born again into a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. May we live in the light of your salvation, experiencing the freedom that is ours in you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Everlasting Father, we give thanks to you today, we bless your name together. You alone are good and your steadfast love endures forever. Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation. As we gather together today fill our minds and our mouths with praise to you. Guard our thoughts and our hearts that we may glorify you in every aspect of our lives. You are the name above all other names, the king above all other kings. Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving, honor, and power and strength, be unto you our God forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Everlasting Father, thank you that you are our strength and our song, you fill our hearts with joy. As we meet together, may we give thanks to you with our whole hearts as we recount all of your wonderful deeds. Let our hearts be glad as we exalt your name. Inhabit our praises, today Lord. Let us rejoice that neither death or life, angels or rulers, things present or future, height or depth, or anything else in all creation, can separate us from your love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Lord, our Rock and Redeemer, thank you that you are perfectly faithful; you never forget, never fail and never take back a promise. You have promised that, when your people gather in your name, your presence is here with us. Fix our eyes on you and let our ears be attentive to your voice. Restore to us the joy of our salvation as we worship you. May we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To you be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you that you are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. We enter your gates with thanksgiving today and we enter your courts with praise. We glorify you for the countless ways you have blessed us. We praise you for your great love. We thank you that we can enter your presence today. May Christ dwell in our hearts through faith so that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. May we be filled with the fullness of God. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Heavenly Father, we come to you today asking for your guidance, wisdom, and support as we begin this meeting. Help us to engage in meaningful discussion; allow us to grow closer as a group and nurture the bonds of community. Fill us with your grace, Lord God, as we make decisions that might affect the students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends of Saint Louis University. And continue to remind us that all that we do here today, all that we accomplish, is for the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of You, and for the service of humanity. We ask these things in your name, Amen.
Lord of Day and Night
Of beginnings and endings
As we prepare to conclude this meeting,
We once again lift up our hearts to You,
The Divine Source of All Life.
We thank you for the gifts that have been present
Within this act of service to the community.
For the gifts of fellowship and understanding,
Of mutual respect and shared vision,
We are grateful
For the gifts of perserverance
And insight into the common concerns we share,
For these and all other graces, we are thankful.
As You have blessed our coming together,
Now bless our departure and journeys homeward.
May Your blessing be upon us,
In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Lord God of Holiness,
You have called us to be the servants of Your servants-
Our brothers and sisters in the parish.
We meet here as their representitives,
And so we ask for the Grace of Your Guidance.
Help us to truly represent them
And not simply ourselves.
May the true needs of our parish
And the common good of all be our concern.
And above all, may Your Will in these matters become our Will.
Help us who serve in leadership
Remember that all of our concerns are aimed at
The spiritual transformation of our parish community.
May the material aspects we discuss
Not blind us to the primary work of our parish:/
The holiness of all its members
May the Holy Spirit
Who inspired the Pentacost meeting of the apostles,
Visit us and grant us the light of Divine Wisdom.
We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spriit,
Forever and ever.
Amen
