Prayer For Freedom And Peace
Loving Lord, we thank You for the freedoms that many of us have enjoyed for so long, but we also realise that there are many people around the world that are held in bondage and slavery. Indeed, increasingly the freedoms of the west, which we have enjoyed for so long, are rapidly being eroded.
Lord, we have placed our faith in the wrong things, for we know that there is no true freedom in this world, except in You, for man is intrinsically evil and the corrupting power for which many are grasping in today's political arena is doomed to fail, when You are not central.
Lord Jesus, You said that Your kingdom is not of this world system, and we know that those that seek after political power in this world system have a lust for evil, and those that desire to change the world system under which we now live, through political means, are seeking to achieve freedom man's way, rather than Your perfect way.
Father, we know that until the Lord Jesus comes to crush the powers that be (the world system that now rests in the evil one, Satan), there will be no true freedom. Help us not to hanker to change the world for the better through man's ways, but rather let us trust in You alone - for in Your own time and in Your own way You have promised to set up Your world wide kingdom with the Lord Jesus at the helm. Keep us until then. Protect us from those that would seek to remove whatever freedoms we have. We pray as the Body of Christ. Come Lord Jesus.
Amen
Loving God, please grant me peace of mind and calm my troubled heart.
My soul is like a turbulent sea. I can't seem to find my balance so I stumble and worry constantly.
Give me the strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose and walk the path you've laid out for me.
I trust your Love God, and know that you will heal this stress.
Just as the sun rises each day against the dark of night. Please bring me clarity with the light of God.
Lord, how I long to break free from negative thinking and embrace peace and joy and optimism. I invite You to begin transforming my thought patterns and help me recognize, reject and replace thoughts that are not pleasing to You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance.
It is there for each and every one of you.
Amen.
Almighty God, We bless you for our lives,
we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace
we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even
though we are not that faithful to you.
Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around
peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit.
We want you to heal and remove everything that is
causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.
Please guide our path through life and make our
enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family,
at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.
Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out
and stay by our side when we return. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Please bring me clarity with the light of God. Fortify me with the grace of Your Holy Spirit and give Your peace to my soul that I may be free from all needless anxiety, solicitude and worry. ... Dear God I ask for peace of mind. I pray that I am calm, collected and tranquil at all times today
Dear Lord Jesus, I wish I could've been present to hear this liberated woman recount the tale of her collision with the gospelher story of meeting you and coming alive to the transforming power of grace (John 4:1-42). Her errand for water from Jacob's well got hijacked by your provision of another kind of waterthe living water that, alone, can slake the deepest thirst of our souls.
You exposed her as a woman who lived a life of sequential affairs. Yet instead of ridiculing her, you redeemed her; instead of condemning her, you cherished her; instead of shaming her, you saved her. There is no friend of sinners, like you Lord Jesus. No one is as welcoming of the broken; understanding of the weak; or liberating of the enslaved.
En route to the nations, you brought the gospel of the kingdom to the dark continent of her heart. As she stood vulnerably in the public square of her Samaritan community, she'd never been so free. No more need to pose or pretend. I wonder if some of the six men with whom she'd been heard her proclaim, Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?
Nothing but the gospel can free us for being thoroughly known without fear. Lord Jesus, your love is unlike anything else we can experience in this life. In fact, your love is better than life itself. We adore and praise you this day as the Christthe Messiah, our Lenten Lord, the heart-knower, our holy lover, our righteousness from God, our only hope of glory!
You know every vain, foolish, and evil thought we've ever conceived; every lustful, greedy fantasy in which we've engaged. Only you hear every grace-robbing, grandstanding, gossipy word we speak. Only you know the broken cisterns of our choicesour idols, the many things to which we turn to find life somewhere else than in you. Yet you pursue us, welcome us, and love us, and you are changing us.
What a wonderful, merciful Savior you are, Jesus. Life, temporal and eternal, can only be found in you. So very Amen we pray, in your transcendent and transforming name.
Dear Heavenly Father, how I thank and praise You that You are our living Lord and loving Saviour. You hold the reins of the universe in the palm of Your hand. Thank You, that You are fully in control of all that is taking place in this fallen world, and that You have not simply left us without hope.
Thank You for our Salvation in Christ, and thank You Father, for the freedom I have in Him.
Thank You, that I have been released from this world system and can rest in You.
Thank You that nothing can happen to me that is not permitted by You, and that will not eventually be for my good and for Your glory.
Lord, as the temporal freedoms within the world are fading away, may my confidence rest in You and You alone. Give me Your peace that passes all understanding in my heart, Your peace, which alone can set me free from the worries and anxieties that this world affords. Thank You, that You are indeed my heavenly Father, my living Lord and my loving Saviour, in Whose name I pray,
Amen.
