Prayer For Family Christmas Gathering
God of all gifts, we thank you for the many ways you have blessed us this day. We are grateful each of those who are gathered around this table. We ask you to bless us and our food and to bless those we love who are not with us today. In our gratitude and love, we remember your humble birth into our lives and pray for those who are without enough to eat. We remember the stable in which you were born and pray for those who have no place to live. We remember your challenging message of caring and giving and we pray for peace in families and nations throughout the world. We bless you and give you thanks in your Spirit who brings our hearts to life the Christmas Day and forever. Amen.
God, please bless this meal and our time together. Thank you for allowing us to safely gather together. We ask that You would guide us as we reflect on the year and on Christ's sacrifice. Thank you, Lord, for all you have done for us. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

My home is full of happiness
My stockings filled with treats
My Christmas tree has twinkly lights
Mum's cooking us a feast.
My church is full of singing
My heart is full of joy
My nativity has the last piece
A little baby boy.
My bible tells me of his life
My mind is filled with tales
My prayer is full of thankfulness
Because on this very day -
The son of God came down to earth
To teach us right from wrong,
And spread forgiveness through the world
Today true love was born.
And so we celebrate this day
With presents, trees and lights.
We play fun games with loved ones
And eat food that's really nice.
For this day is the birthday of
A precious little boy,
Sent to save the world forever
Sent to bring us joy.
Lord, help me keep Christmas activities and gatherings simple and avoid unnecessary complications.
Teach me how to create a simple plan for all the things I want to do during Christmas.
Show me how to leave room to have fun and not burden myself with preparations that are time consuming.

Dear Jesus, as I sit here getting emotional, searching for the right words to say, it occurs to me that there's no right or wrong words. It is Christmas Day, your day of birth, and as we celebrate and rejoice in you, Jesus, we are thankful for everything and everyone who surrounds us. Your Spirit fills this room, the warmth is enough to light a thousand fires in our hearts. Our hearts burn for you. Let us sit and enjoy this meal as we ponder everything Christmas is all about, and let us not forget the true importance of this glorious day. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN!
Our Dear Heavenly Father, It is because of you and your sacrifices that we get to gather together on this day we now call Christmas. What perfect way to celebrate your day than by honoring you while being with the ones we love most. We are thankful for this hot meal we get to enjoy, and pray that everyone will make it home safely tonight. In Your name we pray, AMEN!
Dear Heavenly Father, love brought Jesus to the earth, and love brings us to this Christmas table. Today as we share this holiday feast, may we also share with one another a joyful heart and a warm smile. May our Christmas dinner be filled with kindness. And may the memories of today warm our hearts for years to come. Amen.
