Prayer For Doubt
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O' Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Give us confidence in the depths of danger.
Give us hope when we are surrounded by fear.
Still our worries, calm the anxieties pressing
in on us from the world we live in.
Lord Jesus, give us Your peace.
Reassure us that You are with us when we seem alone.
Ease our doubting, as You did Thomas' doubt.
Lord Jesus, give us Your peace.
Guide our searching for peace,
so that we may not seek it where it is not to be found,
but we may seek it in You.
Lord Jesus, live in us and give us Your peace. Amen.
Lord Father,
I pray that you take this self doubt from me. Help me to see me how you see me. Help guide me to find my purpose in this life you have gifted me. I know I am valuable, loved and cherished by you. You have hand made me, and that was by no accident. Show me the gifts that you've given me. Be with me as I walk the road to find my true destiny through you. I want to do my part to benefit your kingdom. We love you, praise you and give you all the glory. Amen.
Heavenly Father,
Forgive me in the Name of Jesus, for ever causing any grief to the Holy Ghost through unbelief, anger, strife or in any way walking outside of Your love. I receive Your forgiveness. I ask that You help me overcome unbelief. Help me to believe Your Word above any other source in the worldabove what my body tells me, above what the doctors tell me, above what friends or family tell me, above what the internet tells me. Help me to refuse to fear when fear is trying so hard to come upon me. Help me to know and fully accept and receive the love You have for me, because You are LOVE. Help me to honor Your commandment to believe on the Name of Jesus and to love others as He gave commandment. I receive it; I'm committed. Thank You for Your help, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
`I don't even know what to say, Blessed Lord,
I am so confused.
I am caught in the midst of a violent crisis of faith,
so uncertain and doubtful.
I am going through a difficult time
in what touches the depth of my belief.
I am almost tempted to give in
to impatience and despair.
Something within me cries out for you,
yet you seem not to be there.
I have broken away from many childhood beliefs.
I decided to let me faith pass through the filter
of my personal experience.
Suddenly, I found myself too far from you,
from security and certainty.
If I still turn to you, Blessed Lord,
it is because I have not yet lost
the hope of finding
an exit door
for my spiritual anguish
I begin to realize
that by myself I will not be able to overcome
life's ambiguities and contradictions.
I know the mystery of you continues,
and that my faith-existence is a challenge
to be embraced.
The light of your occasional shadowy presence
makes me see that my crisis comes
from the depth of my maturity,
from the depth of my faith.
The irony, Lord;
there is a crisis of doubt
only because there is faith.
Perhaps I have become too demanding
and too positive.
Open my heart, Lord,
to the right attitude
when confronted with questions
of my faith.
Amen.
Dear Lord, help me to understand that both belief and doubt are verbs and we can have intellectual doubts and intellectual unbelief, but still retain our faith. True belief and faith require us to be a hearer and doer. To truly doubt and disbelieve, we must have both thought and action. Lord, do not let the enemy steal our victory. Praise the Lord and help me to stay in faith by rebutting and replacing the negative thoughts. Lord, I thank you for Mark 9:24, which reinforced that heart-based belief triumphs over intellectual unbelief in spite of our thoughts. Lord, I remain in faith when I move forward in doubt and fear like the disciples. True doubt is taking action on our thoughts. Thank you, Jesus, for breaking through my doors of doubt and unbelief. Jesus was tempted in all ways as we were, with unbelief and doubt. Praise the Lord that you are active and present in our lives, even when we cannot see you, even when we were sinners and rejected you, and even when we didn't believe him. Lord, when we are tempted with condemnation, help us to rest in your grace. Lord, help me to be patient and understand that faith requires a season to grow. Lord, help us to cast out our impatience.
