Prayer For Dealing With Difficult Coworkers

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you today praying about my relationship with my co-worker ____________. I am praying for your help, wisdom and insight on what I can do to make our working relationship more bearable, productive and pleasing to you.

I thank you Lord that I can honestly express my feelings to you. I believe that you can guide me and help me and strengthen me to deal with this situation. I need your sustaining power and your provisions for my livelihood and career.

I now ask that your Holy Spirit will give me deeper insight into the causes and source of the difficulties I am having with my co-worker.

Show me the things in my own background and past that this conflict is dredging up__________________ Thank you for bringing these to my mind. I pray your grace, healing and freedom from my past. I claim your freedom to put my past behind me and go forward stronger and wiser.

Give me a new insight into why my co-worker acts as they do ___________________________________

I pray that you will now begin the process of guiding me step by step in protecting myself from my co-worker's problems so I can stay focused on doing my job to the best of my ability.

I pray that you will enable me to communicate more clearly with my co-worker. Prevent me from speaking when I am the most frustrated, angry and hurt. Help me measure my words and keep them businesslike and professional. Help me seek clarification during our conversations that will help me see if they have good reasons for why they do what they do. Please give me one new idea on how to communicate with my co-worker more effectively ___________________________________________________________

I pray that you will show me how to set healthy boundaries between me and my co-worker. Teach me to say no to their demands without making apologies, to excuse myself from unnecessary conversations and to avoid being drawn into their mind games. Show me a boundary that I can set today with my co-worker and give me the strength to keep it firmly in place when they cross the line _____________________________________

Show me how to stay focused on my work and do the best job possible. Give me the ability to concentrate and work efficiently. Help me to be courteous and polite. Keep me from complaining and gossiping.

Show me ways to nurture myself and deal with the stress caused by having to deal with my difficult co-worker. Bring to my mind ways to keep myself healthy in body, mind and spirit____________________________

Show me the places I can go outside of work where I will be surrounded by people who love and respect me, who value my good qualities, enjoy being with me and who encourage and build me up. Lead me to activities where I can receive a sense of accomplishment and joy. Bring to mind one such uplifting thing I can do today__________________________________________________

I pray that you will help me know if it's time to seek help with my co-worker who is hard to get along with. I pray for wisdom in knowing how and where to find this help. I now ask you to guide me whether it's time to bring up this matter with my boss or supervisor or another person in the workplace who can help change this situation_______________________________________________

Father, as I've made this prayer I realize what a complex task it is to deal with difficult co-workers. Without your help, it makes my job twice as hard and exhausts me. Help me to continually lift myself up to you in prayer moment by moment and day by day so I might accomplish the work functions required of me. And as I struggle, trust and pray, may I grow closer to you daily.

I thank you that you care about me and love me and want the best for my life. May I always remember that you will never leave me or forsake me.

Majesty, the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Fill my co-workers and I with Your Spirit so that the workplace can be a fruitful and God-filled environment. I pray that we adopt these fruits in our hearts so that we leave no room for the works of the flesh which will prevent us from inheriting Your Kingdom. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another or envying one another. Amen.

Awesome God, I pray against false accusations and snide comments in my workplace. I pray that no corrupting talk will come out of our (my co-worker's and I) mouths, but only such as is good for building up as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. I pray that all the rumors that have been circulating among my co-workers be diminished, instead let love circulate among us. Amen.

Dear Lord, I thank You for my job despite the difficult people that I work with. I pray that I do not pass judgement on those who offend me any longer, because it is wrong to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. I pray that I do not hold hate or bitterness towards those who offend me. Instead, I pray to extend a loving heart towards them, Amen.

Righteous God, we thank You for who You are, and we bless You for providing every person with their job. We pray that when dealing with difficult co-workers, we reflect on Your Word. The scripture asks why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?'. I pray that we understand that those who persecute us may have issues, but we also are not perfect. Let our approach always be with a loving heart, Amen.
