Prayer For Dead Soldiers

Gracious Loving Lord, I cannot shake the sorrow from losing my loved one in battle. You say You give them eternal life, and they will never perish. I thank You, Lord, because even though my loved one has left this earth, I know they are with You. What a beautiful thought that my fallen hero is resting in Your hands, with wounds healed and floating in Your joy. Please bless my warrior with abundant love as they dwell in Your presence. Amen.

Blessed Lord, Thank You, Jesus, for breaking the power of death. Thank You that the death of my loved one, who has fallen in war, is not the end. Jesus, You died and rose from the dead. You ascended into Heaven as evidence of what happens to us when we die. I pray that You send my love to my fallen hero, who is at Your side. Amen.

Holy Lord, thank You for demonstrating the resurrection from the dead that lies ahead for us all. The promise that death will not separate us from Your love is especially on my mind. My precious loved one died in battle the other day, and my heart longs to see them again. Until I join my beloved warrior in Heaven, I pray, Lord, that You will cover them with Your blessings and pleasant memories of my love. Amen.

Heavenly Father, You promise that nothing will separate us from Your love, not even death. What consolation this brings to my heart as I think of my loved one who has died in battle. I know that when they were passing from this life into eternal life, that they were in Your hands the whole way. What joy they must have had to be in Your presence, basking in Your glory. I pray that the pain, suffering, and battle damage will be removed entirely from their minds as they look to You in all Your beauty. Amen.

God of Enduring Faithfulness, thank You so much for all the promises that You have given in Your Word. Knowing that You are a faithful God that never lies, I can pray in confidence, knowing my loved one is in Your presence now. Thank You that their pain and suffering has come to an end. I pray, Lord, that You would replace all of those memories with thoughts and feelings of the love You and I have for my beloved warrior. Amen.

Father of Compassion, my mind is scattered, and my heart is full of sadness because I have lost my loved one to battle. You say to fix our eyes on what is unseen because the unseen is eternal. I cannot see my loved one now, but I can close my eyes, and I can think of them. I can imagine what they are experiencing in Heaven with You. Fill my heart with the joy for the unseen, Father. Flood my love for my beloved warrior hero into them, there in Heaven with You. Amen.

All Powerful God,
We honor today those men and women
Our sons and daughters,
Husbands and wives,
Fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers
Who have laid down their life for their country.
Whether weary or emboldened, quiet or defiant,
Vulnerable or ready when You called them home,
Their sacrifice is too humbling for words
except these uttered in prayer.
Loving Lord, bless them forever in Your eternal peace
Cherish their spirit, honor their commitment,
send them our love,
and will never forget the service that they gave

Dear Lord Jesus and Mary, Mother of God,
Hold all these brave souls in the palm of your hand, comfort them and their families.
Send angels of protection, love, and comfort to all the servicemen and women still at war,
bring them home safely and comfort their families
