Prayer For Couples In Love

O Lord, we thank you for this wonderful gift of our love
which You have generously granted us and which allows us to build a true communion of
persons between us ---provided we remain ever open to You,
the Source of all love.
Help us to continue to love each other and accept each other unconditionally, as we get to
know each other better.
Make us generous in giving and humble in receiving.
Enable us to communicate to one another all our joys, sufferings, and desires and all our
hopes, sorrows, and difficulties.
Give us the power of Your Love that we may forget self and live for each other so that we
may have truly one spirit, in preparation for the time when You will send us children to add
to our union and love.

Lord God, we acknowledge your greatness and our need for your grace in our marriage.

We thank you now for the gift you have given us in each other, this opportunity to love and be
loved completely.

We accept this beautiful challenge and ask you to bless us.

May our love encourage us to grow to be holier individuals, bringing out the best in each other.

Following your example, Jesus, may we be quick to forgive, ready with a healing word or touch.

Teach us to speak to each other with charity and honesty.

Help us avoid the temptation to take each other for granted.

Instead, remind us, day by day, to see each other as you see us.

May we be as patient with each other as you are with us.

May our love be generous, reaching out beyond ourselves to all we meet.

We pray that they may meet you in us.

Let our life together be a light of hope to those who fear that a total commitment is not possible
today.

Faith gives us courage, for we believe that the love that comes from you is freeing and life-giving.

Lord, be a partner with us in our marriage; with your help it will be strong and enduring.

We rejoice that you have brought us together.

May we always be one in you.

Amen.

Heavenly Father, as we strive to continuously build a stronger marriage, help us to forgive one another for things that may hurt or offend us. Help us to walk in forgiveness and never lose sight of the fact that you have forgiven us.

Help us to show your mercy and grace to our spouse each time they need it and not bring up past hurts or failures. Let us be an example of forgiveness to not only our spouse but to those around us so we can continue to show your love to all we meet. Help us to also forgive ourselves if we struggle with condemnation.

Thank you for your life-giving words of truth that we may be redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen!

Heavenly Father, we ask you today, to strengthen the bonds of both physical and spiritual intimacy in our marriage. We are thankful that you have called husband and wife to intimacy with you first, and intimacy with one another.

Please show us any behavior we have been committing that has been preventing us from entering into a deeper intimate relationship with you and one another. Once trust is broken it can be nearly impossible to regain on our own, however, we know that all things are possible with you God. Heal our hearts, Father, of past hurts and help us to trust in you and one another again.

We thank you right now for increased intimacy in our marriage as we seek to honor you and one another through our marriage covenant. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen!

Heavenly Father we come before you to thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our lives and marriage. We come before you today, God, asking for a stronger bond of unity in our marriage covenant.

Father we ask that you will give us the ability to be a united front for you letting nothing come between us. Help us, Father to identify and work through anything that is not pleasing to you so we can continually reach higher levels of unity in our marriage spiritually, physically, and mentally.

We are thankful and excited to see the work of your hand as we do our best to seek your face daily. We love you and thank you for all of these things. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen!

Precious Father in heaven, when I am dating someone, it is often hard to tell what's inside their heart. Please help me to know my partner better so that in dating, I can have clarity as to whether this is the person You would be pleased to have me marry, if it comes to that. I don't know their heart but I know that You do (1st Sam 16:7). Please know that I am seeking You and Your righteousness first and foremost above all things (Matt 6:33), including the person I'm dating but the truth is, I can't know what they're like in their heart so help reveal to me if this person is who You know would be a good partner for life.

Help me to not rush into anything because I might live to regret it if once we're married and the true person is revealed, I am bound to them for life. How important it is to know who to marry and how hard it is to see what's inside of a person so I truly need your help Lord. Make it clear to me that I am dating the right person or make it obvious that I am not and to know whether I should move on because I know You know them better than I do and you obvious know what's best for me and in the name above all names I pray, Jesus Christ, amen.

Lord, we come to You today because we simply want to pray together regularly. We know we need to set an example for our (family, kids, others), but we also want this for ourselves. We're not sure about how to start. Help us, first of all, to agree about the importance of praying together. You've said that where two or three come together in Your name, You are right there with them. So we are coming together in Your name, asking You to meet with us.

Teach us to be as disciplined in praying together as we are in other areas. Our spiritual lives need discipline just like our bodies need help with a healthy diet and physical exercise. And two are always better than one to help ensure success.

Help us to encourage one another and to set a specific time or times for praying together as a couple often. If we need to get up earlier, stay up later, start with mealtimes, or bedtimehelp us to find what works best for us. Even if it requires scheduling a regular date or appointment on the calendar to initiate prayer as a priority and habit, we're willing to do that.

Lord, You've promised to meet all our needs, but sometimes we don't even know what our needs are. Help us to open up with You and with each other as we look to Your Word for guidance in praying together. Guard us from distractions like excessive television, social media, work, or anything else that can steal our time and commitment to pray together.

We want to pray together for our family, for friends, and for our world. We ask You to teach us how to praynot just Bless us, and Give us, but really how to talk to You as a friend and as our Father, to focus on You and get to know You better, as well as each other. Help us not to be embarrassed as we take turns praying and not to worry about what words to say or how it sounds. You love honest and submissive hearts, and we want to pray that way together.

Forgive us for allowing other things in the past to keep us from praying together. Help us to be one in our desire to honor You, and to establish honest communication between the two of us so hidden sin won't hinder our prayers. Teach us how to keep our marriage intentional at all times. We realize that neglect in any area will affect both our desire and our effectiveness to pray together.

We want to know You and to make the desires of Your heart become our desires as well. Teach us how to pray according to Your will and to be patient to wait for Your answers. Thank You for Your sacrificial death, that allows us to come boldly to Your throne and find help and grace for every need we have.

Put strong Christians in our path who can help us with our prayer life and keep us accountable so we can keep growing strong in our own marriage. You are our Heavenly Father, and You love us as Your children. So today, we are coming to You, pledging our desire to begin praying together. Bless us as we seek to honor that pledge every day of our lives.

In Jesus' name, Amen

O Lord, You are Lord over all creation. Everyday we are surrounded by the miracle of life. Your creativity bursts across the skies at sunset, it emerges from spring buds that bloom. Thank you for the beauty of marriage. Like three streams that merge into one single river, you are journeying with us. You are the creative, restoring current that runs through our relationship. May we stand strong in our friendship like a tall oak tree. May we pull together through the different seasons of our lives so that we become closer. May we ride out the storms and rest in the fair weather. May we care for one another, so that we blossom and bloom as individuals. May we have your vision as we soar above the everyday to glimpse the kingdom of heaven. May we learn the truth of real beauty as we change and age together. And may we reflect your love, hope, and truth that you have poured into our union. Thank you that through your strength and grace we are able to love, care and provide for our loved ones and the wider world. Amen.
