Prayer For Couples To Stay Together

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your grace which you so generously and continuously bless us with. You are worthy of all praise and all glory, and I lift my hands in humble worship and adoration. Bless and empower my words and thoughts today. Let my words be pleasing to you, my rock and redeemer.

I pray that you continue to guide our footsteps and our lives as we walk in agreement with your will. I trust that our relationship is a blessing from you. God, I pray that you guide us and show us what we need to know. Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, and reveal anything that is not of you. Bless our relationship and draw us both even close to you and to your will for our lives. Lord, teach us and guide us that we may always seek you first in everything that we do. May our love be filled with genuine affection and may we honor each other at all times.

Bless our lives in our journey together and fill us with your glory. May we be bonded together in the type of love your son Jesus showed on the cross. May our lives be a reflection of your grace as we abide in it forever. In Jesus' name, I humbly pray, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this life together, for the gift of our love, and the blessing of our marriage. We give you praise and thanks for the joy you've poured into our hearts through this bond of love we share.

Thank you for the contentment of family, and the happiness of our home. May we always treasure the experience of loving each other in this holy union. Help us to remain forever committed to our vows, the promises we made to each other, and to you, Lord.

We need your strength daily, Lord, as we live together with the goal of following, serving, and honoring you. Develop within is us the character of your Son, Jesus, that we might love each other with the love he demonstratedwith patience, sacrifice, respect, understanding, honesty, forgiveness, and kindness.

Allow our love for each other to be an example to other couples. May others seek to imitate our commitment to marriage and our dedication to God. And may others be inspired as they see the blessings we enjoy because of our faithfulness in marriage.

Let us always be a support to one anothera friend to listen and encourage, a refuge from the storm, a companion to lean on, and, most importantly, a warrior in prayer.

Holy Spirit, guide us through the difficult moments of life and comfort us in our grief. May our lives together bring glory to you, our Savior, and testify of your love.

In the name of Jesus, we pray.

Amen.

Precious Father in heaven, when I am dating someone, it is often hard to tell what's inside their heart. Please help me to know my partner better so that in dating, I can have clarity as to whether this is the person You would be pleased to have me marry, if it comes to that. I don't know their heart but I know that You do (1st Sam 16:7). Please know that I am seeking You and Your righteousness first and foremost above all things (Matt 6:33), including the person I'm dating but the truth is, I can't know what they're like in their heart so help reveal to me if this person is who You know would be a good partner for life.

Help me to not rush into anything because I might live to regret it if once we're married and the true person is revealed, I am bound to them for life. How important it is to know who to marry and how hard it is to see what's inside of a person so I truly need your help Lord. Make it clear to me that I am dating the right person or make it obvious that I am not and to know whether I should move on because I know You know them better than I do and you obvious know what's best for me and in the name above all names I pray, Jesus Christ, amen.

Faithful Father, thank you that you have forgiven all our sins at the cross. As we experience conflict in our relationship, may we be quick to forgive in the same way that we have been forgiven by you. Help us to deal with conflict in a way that makes our relationship stronger. You have promised that you will make all things work together for our good. Please help us to trust you in the midst of conflict. You have loved us and have freed us from our sins by Jesus' blood. To you be glory and dominion forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

King of Kings, Lord of Lords, thank you that you are the light of the world, guiding our steps on your path. Please help us to communicate well. Give us the grace to listen to each other carefully and speak in love. Remove any bitterness and resentment from our mouths Lord, and may our words be words of kindness and gentleness. May our communication be the building block of a healthy relationship. Guide our words and our hearts Lord, in submission to you. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with us. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We pray for a deeper understanding of each other. We've been together for a while, but we're two different people who do things in two different ways. And so we ask that You'd give us the strength to be flexible when we need to be, and give us the patience to handle our emotions wisely.

Help us to be good listeners who are sensitive to the needs of each other.

May our differences sharpen each other to grow stronger in faith, and challenge each other to consider new things.

Bind us together in unity, and use our differences to strengthen that bond.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please help us to grow. Give us the wisdom to put aside our desires for those things that we know to be good.

Grant us the strength to exercise the areas of our lives where we lack. Give us a focus and the perseverance to run.

May we step out in faith rather than sitting around waiting for motivation to move us. We know what we should be doing, and we know what we should be changing, but we're lacking self-discipline. Give us the wisdom to grow and the strength to move forward.

Amen.
