Prayer For A Godmother
Father, Your Word reminds us that children are a heritage from God. As we present this child before You, we pray that the responsibility of God parents shall be taken seriously in Jesus Name. Oh Lord, like Solomon, help them to demonstrate knowledge and discretion to children and youth, they have committed to. As they take this new journey a God parents, let them increase in learning. Help them obtain guidance through You, Amen.
Father, we thank You for the life of (child's/children's name) who you have knit together in their mother's womb. They are Your handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which You prepared in advance. So, as we dedicate them today, we pray that every God parent will stand as watchmen and women over those they have committed to. Let these godly men and women be a passing moment in the life of (child's/children's name), but rather a Christ Like role model, this we pray, Amen.
Oh Lord, thank You that we can be a blessing to (name of child/children) on this christening day. Father, Your Word says that I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. We pray that every God parent will contribute positively to the plans of (child/children's name). We declare that their plans will be for good and not evil, giving their God child a future and a hope in Christ Jesus Our Lord, Amen.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessings and responsibility given to God parents. During this special christening service, we ask that by Your divine Holy Spirit, You will help each God parent to provide the care for their God-child/children; Help them to walk by Your light because in you there is no darkness. We pray that every child will be drawn by the example of their God parents in walking in the way and life of our Lord and Jesus Christ, Amen.
Dear Jesus, Your Word says that we must train up a child in the way they should go; even when they are old, they will not depart from it. Father, as God parents for (name of child), we pray that You will help them to teach their God child/children the ways of the Lord. We pray that they shall team them diligently, knowing wisdom, instructions and words of insight. Father bless and strengthen each God parent during this christening day we pray, Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You have hand picked these God parents for (child's name). We pray that You will help each God parent to demonstrate Your wisdom and support. Father bless them as they exercise their faith in You and give them strength and courage as they continue to provide the care and support for every child as promised, in Jesus Name, Amen.
