Prayer For A Godly Wife

Father, please help me to start developing healthy habits in every area of my life. Help me to physically develop good eating, exercising, and grooming habits. Teach me how to create time habits that will carry over to help my future husband. Help me to work when I should work, but also generate good habits of rest and recreation.

Let me devote constant time to prayer and Bible study so that I can grow in your grace. Show me the areas of my life that lack self-control, and then purge them from me. Let any bad habits or selfish lifestyle patterns be removed from me.

Help me to learn how to help my future husband order our whole life to meet your priorities and not the priorities of the world. Let me exhibit moderation and self control in every area of my life so that I can best serve you and help my husband. Amen!

Lord Jesus, when I say I do, at my wedding I know that I am committing to a life of reverence and respect for my husband. Help me to recognize my husband as the leading role model in my life. Help me choose words that will only encourage him and enrich him in his walk with you, Lord.

Help me not feel that I will be leading an independent lifestyle after I am married but that I am to come under and a long side the leadership that you have given my husband as the head of our family. Help me to love and honor him, Jesus. I pray that we would always find time together as a couple, to read and pray. Let us be grounded in your Word as a married couple ought.

Thank you for giving us a model of the marriage union in your Word that we can follow and strive to exemplify. I love you, Lord! Amen.

Lord Jesus, I pray that you would bless my future marriage with strength. Make us strong against the popular culture that has consumed the 21st century. Help my husband and I to be strong enough to say no to the world and yes to eternity in heaven with You! I pray that You would bless us with a wild love for one another so that we could face the world together.

Help us be a model of the Ephesians 5 marriage. Help us be good examples to our children so that they might want to do the same in their marriage and carry on the torch of un-defiled marriage union into the future generation. Let us love you and no other, Jesus.

I pray that as a future wife, I would have a desire to love you more than anyone, Lord. Ground me in Your Word of Truth and help me to fix my eyes on you. Give me a pure heart, a devoted mind, and a quiet soul. Teach me how to honor and submit to my husband in all areas of life. Thank you, Jesus! I love you. Amen.

Lord, I pray for a God fearing, humble, gentle, faithful and loving man. May he be one filled with respect for women and protect them in all harm, trouble and afflictions. May You come first in his life and may he be one who leads a family to God.

Lord, I am willing to accept a man despite whatever his past is. May he come fully done away with his old bad habits. May His past be history as we take each other from the day we come together in a relationship.

In the same way, I pray Lord that he too will not see the old me but as someone good and renewed in Your hope and blessings.

May my past never be a hindrance to living my present life as a wife as I make amends to my old self and give myself wholly and truly to him.

Lord, help me assure my woman that I am responsible and able to provide for her needs. Help me prove that I am a gentleman and God-fearing and would be able to take care of her and protect her in all aspects of life, in good times and in bad.

May I daily make amends in all my shortcomings and make myself ready to give myself wholly and truly to a relationship.

May I grow in deeper love for You, my God, which will allow me to grow deeper in my relationship with her. Amen.

Lord, You said that it is not good for man to be alone. We ask You to listen to the hearts looking for a life partner. Put their yearning for marriage in the right perspective.

Lead them to the one You choose and reveal Your plans for them so that they prepare themselves better. Lord, teach and guide them to seek You first and to learn to give love more than expecting to receive it.

Help them to remember that whatever journey their life leads them on, You are always present, always offering companionship, and always filling their deepest need.

Dear Lord, I pray that You teach my husband's future wife to trust in You so that when the unexpected storms come in their marriage, she will expect peace in the midst of those storms, knowing that You are near. I pray that she will hear You and recognize that You are with them every step of the way.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for my son. Thank you for the good plans you have for him and his future. You knitted him together and created him for a special purpose. I know you have also created someone who he will one day choose to marry. I pray that as He keeps his eyes focused on You, he will be drawn to her godly qualities. Your Word tells us in Ephesians 4:2, Always be humble and gentle. I pray my son will meet a woman who shows true humility and treats others with a gentle kindness that is evident to all. (Philippians 4:5)

I pray she will be someone who supports him and encourages him to seek more of You. As they get to know each other, help them both to be patient. And because of their love, help them to make allowance for each other's faults while inspiring each other to become more like Christ. (Ephesians 4:2) Guide and direct them Lord, while they wait on Your perfect timing for marriage.

Above all, I pray they will make every effort to keep themselves united in the Spirit, binding themselves together with peace. (Ephesians 4:3) I pray they will allow the peace of Jesus to wrap around them and comfort them during difficult times. Thank you in advance for the wonderful, godly wife my son will meet one day. May they have unspeakable joy in their relationship, and may their marriage bring glory to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
