Prayer For When The Enemy Attacks

Father God,
Sometimes I feel attacked in my inner conscience and I'm not always sure if it's from You or if it's from the enemy. Help me to know when it's Your Spirit Lord, so that I can repent of my sin and confess it to you. When I feel condemned, help me to know that I'm no longer standing in condemnation. When I feel You're angry at me, help me to see that I am trusting my feelings over what You reveal in Your Word. I know You are only angry at the sinner every day, but now, I no longer have Your wrath upon me because I have placed my trust in Jesus (John 3:36). What an amazing love You have for me, Lord, evidenced by Jesus' supreme sacrifice, which You also had to suffer through. Help me to know whether You are convicting me of something and when You are prompting me to do something, or when it's the enemy laying all of the worldly guilt upon me, which is not of God. Oh Father, I cannot always know without Your Spirit whether it is You speaking to me or it is the enemy, so give me discernment to know when it is You and when it is the enemy, and in the name above all names, the Lord, Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

Holy, Holy, Holy, are you oh Father,

I come humbly before You and pray that You would glorify Yourself, even at my expense, and even when I am experiencing trouble in my personal relationships. Sometimes it feels like the enemy works through my employer or other people that are close to me, and that they may be attacking me because of them. Most of my family and co-workers know that I have trusted in You Christ, and this sometimes makes me a target at work and at family events. Help me to stay strong, even when I am treated unfairly, or when someone gossips about me and slanders my name. Please help me to hold my own tongue and be as Jesus was when faced with persecution and hostility. He never retaliated, so help me to not make matters worse when I am angered by some injustice done against me, like when someone's told a lie about me. Help me to see that sometimes the enemy will use others to create difficulties in my relationships, so I pray that Your hand uphold me, even while everything seems to be in shambles, and in Jesus Christ's name I pray, Amen.

Righteous God,

I need the full armor of God to protect myself from the fiery darts of the enemy, because I am no match for the enemy without You and Your presence with me. Help me to keep the Word of God close to my heart so that I can know that You promise to never forsake me and never leave me, and You are faithful to Your own word, so help me to trust in You through Your word when I am feeling attacked. Father God, when these attacks come, send Your Spirit to remind me to focus on Jesus and that He has already had victory over the enemy and crushed all opposition to Your Kingdom, so let me trust in You, and fix my gaze upon Jesus, Who alone has brought the victory, so now I have no need to fear, and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

Oh Father,
I know that You forgive all of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1st John 1:9), but sometimes I believe the enemy or one of his demons can send waves of guilt at me. Help me to trust You in the midst of this guilt that is trying to rob my joy. I know that I have trusted in Christ and now there is no more condemnation (Rom 8:1), but the enemy sometimes whispers in my ear that I can't really be a Christian because of the sin that I still do. Help me to fortify my faith by Your Word and give me that hunger and thirst to know You my Lord, and to expect that all who live for You will be under attack. I trust You to bring me home, so help my troubled conscious, as I ask for Your forgiveness, and restore the joy in my salvation, so that I might tell others about your goodness and that you give grace to the humble (James 4:6),and so it is in the strong name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Lord, we ask for your peace...
... we ask for your protection, we trust that you are fighting in ways we can't always see. And we know that we never fight alone, for you are always at work on behalf of your children shielding, protecting, strengthening, and covering us from the attacks we face even when we're unaware. Thank you for the victories in our lives that have no explanation but God. We give you the glory and honor for all you're doing in our lives every day, even in the times we can't fully understand your thoughts and ways.

We ask for your Spirit to lead us, for your peace to guard our hearts and minds in you. We ask for your grace to cover us, and for your blessing to surround. We love you Lord...we need you. We stand firm today in your great and powerful Name. Help us to keep our eyes on you.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

Dear God,
The battle feels intense some days. We get tired and worn, weary and discouraged. It's hard to keep going in the face of defeat and overwhelming struggle. But help us to remember that you will never leave us, for you are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Thank you for your presence with us, thank you for your Almighty Shadow. Thank you that you go before us and cover us from behind. We believe that you are in our midst, and you hold us secure in whatever we face.

We know that the enemy wouldn't be fighting so hard against us if we weren't making a difference for your kingdom. He wouldn't be trying so hard to stop us, if he didn't think you had so much good still in store. Remind us today Lord, that the battle belongs to you, and whatever we're up against can be taken down in one fell swoop by your mighty hand. Please help us to trust you more, to stop wasting time just spinning our wheels or fighting in our strength. Forgive us for the times we've neglected to set our eyes and hearts on you, for the days we've forgotten to come to you first. Fill us with the power of your Holy Spirit. Fill us with your wisdom and discernment to make us aware of the enemy's traps, so we can stand strong against his schemes. Thank you for your constant reminders that your presence will go with us, in whatever we face, and you will give us rest.

O Lord, our God, pre-existing before all ages and remaining forever; who are as great in compassion as you are in uncontainable power; who because of your ineffable mercy bowed the heavens, came down on earth and became man for the salvation of sinners; who put on and immortalized our nature and ascended with it to the place from which you descended; hear from heaven and become merciful to all those who cry out to you with a broken heart. You, O Master of all, lend you ear and hear us. We know your undefeatable love for your creation and your inexhaustible goodness. Hence, we throw ourselves into the ocean of your compassions and entreat you: turn not your face from us nor cast us away from your countenance neither hand us over to those who are so furiously attacking us. Look upon us with your compassionate eye. Show us how to rise above both the visible and invisible enemies. Place in us a power from on high; encompass us with your almighty right hand; keep us under the protection of your wings; fortify us with love for one another and grant us unshakable peace. But before all and above all, instill in us your fear and your love that your holy name may also be glorified in us. Upon you alone we look, on you alone we have placed our hopes, and to you we send up the glory, together with your Father, who is without beginning, and the life-creating Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord God, Captain of my heart, Satan knows if I follow Your Greatest Commandment to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37) he is powerless over me. Guard my heart, Lord Jesus, so that it beats for You alone. Don't let me grow complacent toward You or be lured to love anyone or anything more than You. Remove the idols from my heart so that You alone command my allegiance and utmost affections Help me to love and forgive others as You have forgiven me so the enemy can get no foothold through hate or bitterness on my part. Cultivate in my heart Your love that bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (1 Corinthians 13:7, NASB). Finally, Lord, set my heart on things above, not on earthly things. Help me to remember that You died for me and my life is now hidden which Christ in God (Colossians 3:1-2). Increase my longing for heaven so this world holds no power over me.
