Prayer For The Poor And Homeless

Almighty and ever-living God, Your will for humanity is that
none should be lost, that all should be saved and find their
home in You. Your son, Jesus, came among us in poverty and
simplicity, to show us the inherent dignity of each human life,
and to reveal Your special love for the poor. We thank You for
entrusting to our care Your precious ones known in the face of
the homeless. Bless all those who have shared life together
with us in the shelters dedicated to serving those in need. As
we joyfully celebrate the miracles we have witnessed in our
midst, help us to rededicate ourselves to continue to extend
Your loving hand to all those who come our way.
No one is a stranger to You, and no one is ever far from Your
loving care. In Your kindness watch over all those who find
themselves without food or shelter, who have been separated
from the support of family, who have lost their way and are
seeking a place to call home. Bring them safely to us that we
might welcome them and serve them, so that they might renew
their strength and with Your help find hope for the future.
Bless the work of our hands so that our service to others will
continue to build Your kingdom of peace and justice in our
world. We make this prayer to You, O God, who have created
us, saved us, and made us whole.

O God of Mercy: We hear the persistent call to feed the hungry and find shelter for the
homeless. Stir our hearts to move more deeply in our walk with Jesus.
Help us answer the question, Why do we feel comfortable living beyond our needs
when others do not have their basic needs met?
Help us not be hypocrites of lip service but the disciples of action.
Keep our hearts soft enough to keep hearing the cry of the hungry and the homeless.
Amen.

Hear our prayer today for all women and men, boys and girls who are homeless this day.
For those sleeping under bridges, on park benches, in doorways or bus stations.
For those who can only find shelter for the night but must wander in the daytime.
For families broken because they could not afford to pay the rent.
For those who have no relatives or friends who can take them in.
For those who have no place to keep possessions that remind them who they are.
For those who are afraid and hopeless.
For those who have been let down by our social safety net.
For all these people, we pray that you will provide shelter, security and hope.
We pray that those of us with warm houses not be lulled into complacency and
forgetfulness.
Jesus, help us to see your face in the eyes of every homeless person we meet so that
we may be empowered through word and deed, and through all the means we have, to
bring justice and peace to those who are homeless. Amen.

Heavenly Father we thank you because Your Word says that because You love us, You gave your only begotten Son to die for us. So, we thank you that Your love extends to every ethnic group, all genders, race, colour and socio-economic classifications. Right now, we offer this prayer for the homeless, poor and hungry. We pray that you will bless all men, women and children who may be without shelter across the globe. Also we pray for divine covering and blessing upon the homeless, poor and hungry who have no one to take them in.

We pray that Your Holy Spirit will flood them with warmth, security, protection and strength in Jesus Name. And we declare Psalm 46, that you shall be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We pray that they shall not fear even though the mountains may feel as though they are shaking; the Lord of Hosts shall be with them, because the God of Jacob is their refuge. We commit this prayer to You, in Jesus Name. Amen!

Heavenly Father
My neighbour has nowhere to call home: help me be aware.
My neighbour needs love and community: help me be active.
My neighbour is crying out for justice: help me be adamant
to see an end to homelessness. Amen.

O GOD, Almighty and merciful, who heals those that are broken in heart, and turns the sadness of the sorrowful to joy; Let your fatherly goodness be upon all that you have made. Remember in pity those who are this day destitute, homeless, or forgotten by their fellow men. Bless the congregation of your poor. Uplift those who are cast down. For those who suffer innocently, I pray that you will sanctify their endurance of the wrongs worked on them, keeping their hearts free of bitterness. Cheer with hope all discouraged and unhappy people, and help those who are tempted into sin by their poverty; though they be troubled on every side, suffer them not to be distressed; though they be perplexed, save them from despair. Grant this, O Lord, for the love of him, who for our sakes endured poverty and blameless suffering, your Son, our Jesus Christ.

Amen.

I pray and plead the Blood of Jesus Christ for all the homeless people, for all broken families, for all unemployed, for all the women and children who are alone without any help, for all the animals who are homeless and sick, for all the sick people who are suffering, for all the old people, for all the people who are affected by wars, natural disasters, for all the broken marriages, the victims of various circumstances, for all the poor people, for all the Job operating Companies/Industries for which their business have hurt due to bad economy.

May the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse my sins as well as their sins so that they might be healed and their prayers will be answered without any hindrances. May the precious Blood of Jesus Christ protect them from all evils and guide them and give them strength, hope, comfort, healing, peace, prosperity and Good health. I call forth, in the Name of Jesus, all of God's plans and purposes for their lives and their families. Lord Jesus Christ I pray that you will have mercy on them and deliver each one of them in their times of trouble. I surrender all the above people to you, knowing that they will be very safe in your hands.

Lord Jesus, I ask you to bless me and every person I have prayed for today and everyday and send Your mighty angels to protect all of us in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen!

Gracious God of our Homeless Savior, ... A calling for justice, for compassion, for the caring of the poor and needy, for feeding the hungry and for sheltering those who are homeless. This is who we are called to be: every-day disciples of our Lord Jesus who said of Himself, He had no place to lay His head.
