Prayer For The Police
Dear God, through the intercession of our patron, Saint Florian,
have mercy on the souls of our comrades who
have made the supreme sacrifice in the performance of
their duty, and on all who have gone before us after years
of faithful discharge of their responsibilities which now
rest on ourselves. Give us Grace to prepare each day for
our own summons to Thy tribunal of justice. Into Thy
hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit. Whithersoever Thou
callest me, I am ready to go. Merciful Father of all men,
save me from all bodily harm, if it be Thy will, but above
all, help me to be loyal and true, respectful and
honorable, obedient and valiant. Thus fortified by virtue, I shall have no fear, for I shall then
belong to Thee and shall never be separated from Thee.
O Almighty God, Whose great power and eternal Wisdom embraces the universe, Watch over all policemen and Law enforcement officers everywhere.
Protect them from harm In the performance of their duty To stop crime, robbery, Riots and violence.
We pray, help them keep our streets And homes safe, day and night.
We commend them to your loving care Because their duty is dangerous.
Grant them strength and courage In their daily assignments. Dear God, protect these brave men and women.
Grant them your almighty protection, Unite them safely with their families after Duty has ended.
Please God, grant us this wish.
Oh Almighty God, whose great power and eternal wisdom
embraces the universe.
Watch over all policemen and law enforcement officers.
Father in Heaven please give them the strength,
courage and perseverance to endure
The unjust condemnation, danger, and physical abuse
to which they are at times subjected.
We recommend them to your loving care because their duty is dangerous.
Dear God, grant these brave men your almighty protection,
Unite them safely with their families after duty has ended.
Lord of the Nations, thank you that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that you are God. As we pray for the police officers in our community today, we ask that they would carry our role as representatives of your authority. We pray that they would use the power and authority you have given them wisely, carrying out their responsibility to serve and protect us. We pray that you would protect them from temptation and deliver them from evil. May we be filled with all the fullness of God. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Mighty God, thank you that you are the wellspring of eternal life. As our police officers protect and serve our community we pray for them today. Keep them safe in times of trouble. Give them strength in times of weariness. Give them joy in times of sorrow. Give them hope in times of despair. May they know their identity as children created in your image and give them encouragement as they serve day after day. Lift them up with all your people in purity, righteousness and hope. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Creator God, thank you that your voice prepares us for eternal life. As we pray for our police officers today, we ask you would meet every need they have in their work. We ask that your strength would flow through them, giving the endurance they need to carry on. Give them encouragement that the work they do represents your character of justice and peace. We look forward to a day with no injustice and no oppression when you reign forever. We join with all creation in adoration of your precious name. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Loving Father, thank you that you are always with us. We pray for police officers and ask that they would know your presence is with them as they face the challenges and demands of their job. When their work feels overwhelming, we ask that you would bring peace and clarity of mind. There is no purer source of peace and joy than you, Lord. You alone are worthy to receive our honor and worship for eternity. We exalt your powerful name above all other powers on the earth. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
