Prayer For The People

Loving Father, please forgive me for what I have done against you. Father, I offer up this forgiveness prayer in hopes that you will look at my mistakes and know that I did not mean to hurt you. I know you know I'm not perfect. Lord, I know that what I did went against you, but I hope that you will forgive me, just as you forgive others like me. Father, I will try, to change. Also I will make every attempt to not give into temptation again.

Lord, I acknowledge that you are the most important thing in my life, Lord, and I know that what I did disappointed You. For that I ask, God, that you grant me counsel in the future. I ask for the discerning ear and open heart to hear and feel what you are instructing me to do. I pray that I will have the understanding to remember this time and that you give me the strength to go down a different path. Lord, thank you for all you do for me. I pray that you shower your grace upon me. In your Name. Amen.

Almighty God, You have listened patiently to my concerns and consoled me in times of hardship. Let me remember Your presence and love for me when I am called upon to forgive another person for an unkind word or action. You have shown me how to act, what to say, what to do, and yet I sometimes react in anger and find it difficult to forgive others as You so often have forgiven me. Grant that I may recognize this failing in myself and remember Your words and example whenever I have need of a forgiving spirit. Amen

Dear Merciful Lord,
Thank you for your gift of forgiveness. Your only Son
loved me enough to come to earth and experience
the worst pain imaginable so I could be forgiven. Your
mercy flows to me despite my faults and failures. Your
Word says to clothe yourselves with love, which binds
us all together in perfect harmony. (Col. 3:14)

Help me demonstrate unconditional love today, even
to those who hurt me. I understand that even though
I feel scarred, my emotions don't have to control my
actions. Father, may Your sweet words saturate my
mind and direct my thoughts. Help me release the hurt
and begin to love as Jesus loves.

I want to see my offender through my Savior's eyes.
If I can be forgiven, so can he. I understand there are
no levels to Your love. We are all Your children, and
Your desire is that none of us should perish.

You teach us to let the peace that comes from Christ
rule in our hearts. (Col. 3:15) When I forgive in words,
allow Your Holy Spirit to fill my heart with peace. I pray
this peace that only comes from Jesus will rule in my
heart, keeping out doubt and questions.

And above all, I am thankful. Not just today, not just
this week, but always. Thank You for the reminder,
Always be thankful. (Col. 3:15) With gratitude I can
draw closer to you and let go of unforgiveness. With
gratitude I can see the person who caused my pain
as a child of the Most High God. Loved and accepted.

Help me find the compassion that comes with true
forgiveness. And when I see the person who hurt
me, bring this prayer back to my remembrance, so
I can take any ungodly thoughts captive and make
them obedient to Christ. (2 Cor. 10:5) And may
the confidence of Christ in my heart guide me into
the freedom of forgiveness. I praise you for the work
You are doing in my life, teaching, and perfecting my faith.
In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord, do not hold this sin against them, for You are full of mercy and compassion for all. Please give me the grace to forgive so as to imitate Your perfect love
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Lord, Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Amen.

Dear God,

Our hearts are burdened for our friends who are hurting right now. We ask that you would be their comforter, that you would cover them with your infinite grace and mercy, surrounding them in peace during this dark season. We pray for fresh grace, for renewed strength, for your goodness and mercy over their lives today.

We thank you that you alone are our refuge and strong tower. We thank you that no matter what we face, you are still on the throne, you are still in control, and nothing can ever stand against you. Thank you that you hold the victory in this world, and you have promised in your Word that you will be with us through any hardship we may face.

We know that only in you do we have the hope to face dark and uncertain times, for our future is held secure through the gift of Christ. We ask for you to extend your hope and compassion to our loved ones right now. In these days when they're struggling, or seem to have lost their way at times, would you please remind them that you are still here. With them. Close. That you are bigger than this storm they're facing, and you promise to hold them secure.

Thank you God that you are with us always, that your presence is mighty, and you hear our prayers on behalf of those we love. We ask that you would show yourself strong on their behalf. Remind them that nothing is too difficult for you, and you are leading them through this difficult time, covering them in your care. We know and believe beyond any doubt, that your power and love will never fail.

You are always trustworthy. You are all-powerful. You are fully able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are our healer and will never waste the pain we carry today. You promise to use all things for good in some way, because you are a God of miracles and nothing is too difficult for you.

All these burdens we carry for our friend today, we lay at your feet, Lord. We give them to you, and we thank you that you hear our prayers and are at work on their behalf even now. Thank you that you fight for us, even when we can't see all that you're doing, even when we can't fully understand your ways. We know that nothing can ever separate us from your great love and care, and our loved ones are safe in your hands.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

Lord, I know you want me to pray for this person. You already know how difficult this is for me and at this point, I really don't want to (remember, you don't have to sugar coat it. He already knows). But Lord, I pray your will in this person's life. I pray they turn to you for direction and forgiveness and see how much they have hurt me.

Please give me eyes to see them from your perspective, and a heart to want to forgive. I ask for patience while you work your will and to show me how to be the loving Christian you have called me to be.

I pray this every day over and over again. I ask God to help them humble themselves before Him, and ask that they want to seek his forgiveness, want to change, and no longer treat people in this way.

But I also ask for eyes to see them through His perspective, to show me what I have done in the situation, and how I can grow in this difficult time

Lord, when I open my eyes each day, help me to feel your presence. Help me to keep in step with your Holy Spirit and be counseled by your word. My heart aches and I am worn out from crying. Please help me rise out of my hurt and sorrow.
