Prayer For The Body Of Christ
Father God, You desire peace and unity and encouragement for our body of believers. Help us, Lord, to pursue what makes for peace and for building one another up. To pursue the things You will lead to peace and unity. Give us discerning hearts to know Your will and give us the courage to be obedient. Lord, we know that without You and Your Holy Spirit indwelling each of us, we cannot do any of these things. But, with You and for Your glory, grant our body peace and unity.
Lord, You have told us in Your Word that You hear our prayers. We are crying out to You, we are humbling ourselves before You and seeking Your face. We come together as a church body to seek You. We repent and turn from our wicked ways, thank You for hearing us. Thank you for Your forgiveness and healing.
God, help our church body to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given us. Help us in all our interactions with one another to have humble and gentle hearts. Grant us patience for one another, bearing with one another in love. Grant the Body of Christ unity. May we walk humbly with You, God, allowing You to show us our wrongs.
Lord, what the enemy means for evil against our church body, we believe You can use for good. Remind our hearts of this. When we are being attacked and crushed from all sides, remind us of Your faithfulness to use everything for Your good and Your glory. May we not fear but trust in Your provision for our church family. May we not only be readers of Your Word but believers and doers. Increase our faith, Lord.
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
Father, we pray and confess Your Word over the Body of Christ. We pray that Your people be filled with the full, deep and clear knowledge of Your will in all spiritual things. We pray they live and conduct themselves in a manner worthy of You, Lord, fully pleasing to You and desiring to please You in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of You, with fuller, deeper and clearer insight.
We pray that the Body of Christ will be invigorated and strengthened with all power, according to the might of Your glory, to exercise every kind of endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to You, Father, Who has qualified and made them fit to share the portion that is the inheritance of the saints (God's holy people) in the light. You, Father, have delivered and drawn them to Yourself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and have transferred them into the Kingdom of the Son of Your love, in Whom they have their redemption through His blood, which means the remission of their sins.
Father, You delight at the sight of the Body of Christ, standing shoulder to shoulder in such orderly array and the firmness and the solid front and steadfastness of their faith in Christ, leaning on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and goodness. They walk regulate their lives and conduct themselves in union with and conformity to Him, having the roots of their being firmly and deeply planted in Him, being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith.
Your people, Father, clothe themselves as Your own picked representatives Your chosen ones, who are purified and holy and well-beloved by You by putting on behavior marked by tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, gentle ways and patience. They have the power to endure whatever comes with good temper. They are gentle and forbearing with each other; and, if they have a grievance or complaint against another, readily pardon each other. As You, Lord, have freely forgiven them, so do they also forgive.
Your people put on love and enfold themselves with the bond of perfectness, which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony. They let the peace from Jesus act as umpire continually in their hearts deciding and settling with all finality all the questions that arise in their minds in that peaceful state to which they are called. They are thankful, appreciative, giving praise to You always.
The Body of Christ lets the Word spoken by Christ, the Messiah, have its home in their hearts and minds. It dwells in them in all richness as they teach, admonish and train each other in all insight, intelligence and wisdom in spiritual songs, making melody to You, Father, with Your grace in their hearts.
And whatever they do in word or deed, they do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in dependence upon His person, giving praise to You, Father, through Him!
In Jesus' name, amen.
We declare in the name of Jesus and according to the power of God at work in us, that we are of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing (with one another), loving (each the other as brethren of one household), compassionate and courteous tenderhearted and humble-minded.
We never return evil for evil or insult for insult, scolding, tongue lashing, berating. But, on the contrary, blessing, praying for their welfare, joy, and protection and truly pitying and loving one another.
For we know that to this we have been called, that we may ourselves inherit blessings from God, obtain blessings as heirs, bringing welfare and joy and protection. In Jesus' most Holy and Precious Name, AMEN!!
Gracious Lord, we thank You for Your love and forgiveness to each one of us, and praise and thank You that we are Your children and have been born into Your heavenly family. Lord, we pray for unity in the body of Christ, that we may show forth true godliness of heart and gracious contentment in our actions and attitudes towards each other and to You.
Lord, we have nothing to commend ourselves to You, but You have clothed us in Your own righteousness. May each one of us be swift to run from those things that are displeasing to You, but rather to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.
Help us Lord, to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace in our homes and church communities, and give us grace we pray, to diligently seek after all those things that are well-pleasing in Your sight, so that we may live in unity, one with the other, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
