Prayer For Teaching
God of the Universe thank you that you are perfectly faithful; you never forget, never fail and never take back a promise. You have promised that you will give wisdom to anyone who asks. Hear my prayer for wisdom and fill me with your love and your understanding. Help me to study by giving me a clear mind and a calm heart. May your peace be in my heart, your grace be in my words, your love be in my hands and your joy be in my soul. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Lord, my Rock and Redeemer thank you that you have plans for me that are for my good and your glory. In everything I do may I set an example for others by doing what is good. In my teaching may I work with integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned. Give me the strength I need to represent you as I teach. May the peace of God enfold me, the love of God uphold me and the wisdom of God control me. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
O Lord my God, thank you that you are the source of all true joy in life. Help me to teach others well. Guide my thoughts, words and actions to enable me to carry out this important work that you have placed before me. Increase my faith that anything is possible in your power. Let the majesty of the Father be the light that guides me, the compassion of the Son be the love that inspires me and the presence of the Spirit be the power that empowers me. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
All-Knowing God, thank you that you possess infinite riches of wisdom, goodness and power. You have said that if I accept your words, turn my ear to wisdom and apply my heart to understanding, then I will find the wisdom and knowledge of God. Remind me as I study, that everything I have is a gift from you. May the peace of God reign in my life, the love of God surround me, the Spirit of God empower me and the joy of God uphold me. Generous Father, thank you that you are great and abundant in power, your understanding is beyond measure. Let me follow the example of Jesus who, as he grew up, increased in wisdom and stature. Help me to use my time wisely as I study that I too may grow in wisdom. Please help me to glorify you in my thoughts, words and actions. Faithful Father, thank you that you are faithful to fulfill all your promises. You are the ultimate teacher. You teach and instruct me in the way of life and guide me into your will. May I teach others with the wisdom and love that I receive from you. Remind me that my teaching is an act of worship to you. May the love of the Father, the tenderness of the Son, and the presence of the Spirit, gladden my heart and bring peace to my soul, today and for all days. Loving Father, thank you that you are my creator, you know me better than anyone else. Help me to use the mind you have given me to learn and study effectively. May I learn with humility and grace. May I grow in wisdom as well as knowledge. Let me live a life of integrity in everything I do. May I grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, thank you that you hear and answer my prayers. Your word instructs us to start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. In my role as a teacher, please help me to work hard for the good of my students, treating each of them with care, love and respect. Lord, bless me and keep me, make your face shine upon me. Turn your face towards me and give me peace. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
