Prayer For Someone Who Died Of Cancer
In your hands, O Lord,
we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters.
In this life you embraced them with your tender love;
deliver them now from every evil
and bid them eternal rest.
The old order has passed away:
welcome them into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain,
but fullness of peace and joy
with your Son and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.

Father-Mother,
I thank You
for the gift of Julie
In our lives.
We have surrendered her
back to You.
Welcome her warmly
With as much tenderness
As she showed
All who met her.
Bless her family
Left behind.
Wife, mother, friend,
Now forever absent
Leaving an unfillable hole
Beyond human capacity.
Yet, may Your Divinity
Surround each with
Your perfect Love,
To heal, comfort, sustain
And embrace.
In Jesus' name.
Lord, we pray for those who mourn, for parents and children, friends and neighbors. Be gentle with them in their grief. Show them the depths of your love, a glimpse of the kingdom of heaven. Spare them the torment of guilt and despair. Be with them as they weep beside the empty tomb of our risen savior, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Jesus, please be with my friend reading this prayer. You know every wound, every joy, every fear, every dream. Heal old wounds. Heal new wounds. Rejoice alongside. Alleviate every haunting fear. Fulfill God-sized dreams in Your timing (and help us be patient in the waiting). Help us all to see the power of Your resurrection this month. Give us eyes to see where new life springs in our hearts. Rejuvenate when we're weak. We need You Jesus. Amen.
Gracious God, my days are clouded with heavy worry and fear. I need You close to me in this scary time. I know that Your plan is good and You will protect me. I pray that I am reminded of this with every breath or doubtful feeling. Please surround me in Your almighty and loving presence. I pray that as I walk through my final chapter of life that Your presence is so overwhelming. Please provide me with Your gentle and magnificent touch. I love You, Lord. In Jesus' glorious name, Amen.
Jesus, my Prince of Peace, I pray urgently for Your peaceful touch on my soul. My mind has been anxious and my body tired from my terminal cancer. Please replace these ungodly feelings and bring me unwavering peace. May I wake with comfort streaming through my body and mind. May I feel peaceful as I tackle the challenges and fears of today. As I approach the day where I meet You, please center my entire heart in a peaceful place. I ask this so confidently, knowing Your goodness. In Your compassionate and holy name, Amen.
O God of all hope, whatever happens during this day is in Your hands. Strengthen me in my weakness, give skill to those who minister to me, and grant me confidence and faith in Your healing power. Through Jesus Christ my Lord I pray. Amen.
