Prayer For Sick Pregnant Woman
Loving Lord, I hardly know whether to laugh with joy like Sarah or cry in disbelief like Elizabeth's husband Zacharias, when they discovered that they were to have a baby. Here I am thinking that my parenting days were long gone and I discover that I am pregnant once more!
Lord, I come humbly before You. I am not even sure that I am strong enough to bring up another child, but Lord my life is in Your hands and I pray that You would give me the wisdom and grace to go through this unexpected pregnancy, and the strength Lord, to start once again with sleepless nights and child-training.
Lord, I thank You for this baby and I give my pregnancy to You, praying that throughout the whole time You will be there to comfort and encourage and strengthen each member of the family. And Lord, I pray that You would place Your hand of blessing on this little human being that is being formed in my womb. May he or she grow up to know You Lord, and may they become a mighty man or woman of God.
Thank You for all my children, which have become such a blessing to me. Into Your hands I commit myself, my husband, my family and this precious little addition to our home, for which I praise You Lord.
Amen.
Oh Father God, You know the ongoing difficulties that I have had with my pregnancy, not only the morning sickness but the other ailments that seem to have shadowed this pregnancy from the moment that I conceived.
Lord, I know that there are lots of pains and problems that are connected with the joy of having a baby, and I don't want it to appear that all I am doing is to complain of feeling ill, when my heart is rejoicing that I am carrying this precious little life within me.
I ask that Father, that You would prevent me from having any more complications and illnesses as the time passes, and give me the grace and strength I pray, to carry this baby to full term, with a spirit of joy and thanksgiving.
Oh Father God, the joy of my Lord is indeed my strength and I claim this wonderful promise today, praying that You will support and strengthen me until that wonderful day when I hold my little baby in my arms. Thank You Father,
Amen.
God, thank you for giving my baby a hope and a future. No matter what her life holds both in my womb and in the world, I give you praise for her presence and purpose. Thank you for knowing her intimately, loving her deeply, and entrusting her to my care. Give me strength as I carry her. Equip my body to do this good work of preparing her little life for birth. Thank you for making this baby specifically and carefully and wonderfully. May her life be for your glory and may you be praised through this pregnancy, Jesus! Amen.
God, thank you for giving each one of us life. Thank you for knitting us together in our mother's wombs even before she knew we existed. Thank you for giving us a purpose for every beat of our hearts and every breath we take. It is in you that we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28) and we praise you for your good and beautiful works. We are not here by accident, and we thank you that this new, budding life is not an accident either. You are a gracious and generous giver of good things, Lord! This new life is in your hands, and we pray that we would be a good steward of this precious creation. In your name we pray, amen.
Father God, I thank You for my baby's heartbeat, and even though I can't hear it yet, I know You can. Bless my baby's heart and cause it to grow strong, just as it should be. Protect my baby's heart from any defects or problems. Your Word says that in the beginning Your creative powers were at work. I acknowledge Your power and ask You to extend it to my baby also. Create a healthy baby, week by week, as he or she grows. And, Lord, give my child a heart to love and serve You. Give my child a tender heart, open to hearing Your voice, and to be kind and compassionate toward others. Please help me to be a good role model of these attitudes as well. Help me lead my child in prayer and in opening up our hearts to You to receive Your love. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Dear Lord, I pray for my baby's brain development. I pray that my baby will develop a healthy, intelligent brain. I pray now that this baby will grow normally, just as it is supposed to, according to Your plan for pregnancy. I pray that the cells will multiply and grow and that the brain and spinal cord will develop properly. Give my baby a strong spinal cord and a strong, intelligent mind. And because Your Word says, Whatever you ask in My name, I will do (John 14:13), I am obeying Your Word by asking You to bless my baby's growth and make my baby healthy and strong. I also ask that You will bless my baby with an excellent memory. Lord, help me teach my baby to memorize Scriptures, and help my baby to memorize them easily and quickly. I pray that Bible verses will come to his or her memory quickly in times of need. I thank You for Your promise of giving us peace, so I don't have to worry about something being wrong with my baby. I declare the power of Your Word and Your Holy Spirit to come to pass. May my baby's brain develop just as it should, and may my child be blessed with a high IQ, to be used for Your glory. And, Lord, I pray that my son or daughter will grow up to be a person of prayer that he or she will have faith and tap into Your power through prayer. I pray in the name of the Father God, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the child You are giving me. Thank you for this awesome miracle of new life. You are the only one who knows if I am having a boy or a girl, and whichever it is, I ask You to bless my baby with good health and with love. Lord, please help me feel well physically, and take away any morning sickness or other hardships that may make it hard for me to concentrate on You and this gift You are giving me. I pray against miscarriage, Jesus. I know how common it is, but I know You want me to have a healthy baby, and so I claim a healthy pregnancy, in Jesus' name. I know love is the most important gift I can give my baby, so help me to be the most loving mother I can be. Father God, I want to be an extension of Your love. Use me to bring Your love into my child's life. Anoint me to teach my child how to pray. Help me teach my child Your ways and Your Word. Help me to be a good role model. And again, I praise You for this wonderful miracle of life that's growing inside me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
God of Infinite Goodness, watch over expectant mothers as they await the birth of their child.
Grant these women confidence and strength to dispel their anxiety and fear. Bless them with the courage and faith of Mary, always listening to your will and trusting in your loving care. As they prepare to bring new life into the world, grace them with good health and great joy. We look to you and your Son, Jesus Christ, as a sign of mercy and joy. We ask this through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes in the name of your Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. AMEN.
