Prayer For Sadness

Heavenly Father, thank you that your word can speak joy to my sad heart. I pray that you would bring refreshment to my weary soul. Bless me according to all the promises in your word. you always speak the truth and you have promised that you will hear my prayer in the name of Jesus. Purify me from my sin and, through your Holy Spirit, dwell in my heart. To you alone belongs the kingdom, the power and the glory, from now into eternity. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.


Wonderful Counselor, I thank you that you are the rock which allows me to stand firm in the midst of the storms of life. At the moment my heart feels sad due to the circumstances of my life and I ask that you would bring comfort and healing. Revive my heart Lord and speak with power to my soul. Reach down from heaven and touch me with your love and blessing. Rekindle the fire in my heart that I would know joy and happiness again. May your name be exalted in heaven and on earth. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.


Faithful God, I thank you that you are the God who gives hope to the hopeless. I ask that you would fill my heavy heart with hope at this time. Help me to praise you during the good times and the bad times. My circumstances may change but your love does not. I thank you that you are not a distant God but that you are living and active in my life. May I see your might and power at work in my life. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.


Lord Jesus, thank you that you are the Prince of Peace and you give peace to your people. I ask that you would remove my sadness and replace it with peace and joy. You suffered and died for me, proving your great love. You have paid the greatest price to meet my deepest need and so I can trust you with every other aspect of my life. You are my rock of hope, you were rejected and forsaken so that I will never be rejected or forsaken by you. I ask that I would always trust in you. In your mighty name, Amen.


Loving God, I thank you that you have promised that you will never leave me nor forsake me. Although my heart feels distant and cold, I know that you are by my side. I ask that your presence would soften my heart. I praise you that you have redeemed me from death through your wonderful love. Like a shepherd you lead me and provide for me, I ask that you would supply everything I need in this situation. In the light of your awesome presence, I pray that my lips would declare your glory. Everlasting Father, I thank you that you continually give good gifts to your children. You know the sadness that I feel at the moment and I ask you to give me just what I need to overcome that sorrow. I look to your throne of mercy to find relief from my pain. As I kneel before you, I pray that you would hear my cry and heal my heart. All comfort springs from you, you are the source of life itself. I have no other hope but you, thank you that you will never let me down. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.


God of all grace, you have shown your faithfulness to your people throughout the generations. I thank you that, although my heart feels heavy right now, you have not abandoned me. Your supply of grace to me is vast, I will never exhaust your love. May I come to you and find rest from the burdens that are weighing me down. In that rest, I pray that my heart would feel lighter. May I experience the power of your love to transform my life. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with my spirit. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.


Heavenly Father, thank you that you are the God of all comfort and joy. I pray that you would send your spirit to uplift my sad heart. Shine the warming rays of your light onto my heart that feels cold at this time. Your love can melt the sadness and transform me with joy. Your love is beyond my understanding. Your love can ease every fear. I pray that I would be filled with that love in every aspect of my heart, mind and spirit. There is nothing that can separate me from your love.
