Prayer For Sadness And Depression
Dear God,
I pray that you will lift me up. Lift me up so I can get on with my life. I do not know where to turn, God, so I ask you to work through me and to attract to me a life that will be everything that I need for sustained
happiness and fulfillment. I may not know what that is, God, but I trust that you do and that gives me hope. It also gives me hope that you can come through me, touch me, and uplift me.
I give thanks, God, that this is now occurring in my life, and I decree that it is so.
In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of your presence,
your love, and your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to you,
we shall see your hand,
your purpose, your will through all things.
Dear God,
I come to you in my hour of need. I ask you to touch my mind and uplift my thoughts, change my seeming realities that I'm thinking about my life, change my opinion of what is and what can be.
God, I ask that you to give me a sense of well being again. I pray that you help me find my smile, both on my face and in my soul. God I cannot do this by myself, so I turn to you, and I surrender.

Heavenly Father, please strengthen our hearts, and remind us to encourage one another when the troubles of life start to overwhelm us. Please guard our hearts from depression. Give us the strength up to rise up each day and fight against the struggles which seek to weigh us down. Amen.
Dear Lord,
I come to You today to ask for help. You are my everything. Lord, I need rest. I give You my worry. Take it, Lord. I accept Your peace, love, and understanding. Help me to turn to You and not to myself. Help me to stop doing and start trusting. Help me to wait on Your answers, because I know that they are good. Give me wisdom, hope, and peace. Thank you, Lord, for Your patience and grace. I love You, and I know You love me so much more than I could ever imagine.

Dear God,
I'm in pieces, everywhere I look there is brokenness. Nothing seems to make sense, why is there such suffering in the world Lord? I feel at a loss, as I don't know how to manage these feelings. I am alone, I feel isolated, and wonder if anyone would want
to be with me. Oh come to my aid Lord, lead me to something or someone who can help. Bless my efforts to seek you, and my attempts at reaching out to others. I lay these feelings of sadness and loneliness at the foot of
the cross.
I choose to look to you, and trust that you can lead me out of this hard place.
Amen.
Father,
Please help me to rest in your happiness,
To allow a smile to linger on my lips,
To dwell within a wonderful memory,
To walk back through sunlit places.
Please help me to awake with hope,
To engage with life in all its variety,
To take in the beauty of others joys,
To touch the souls of those I meet with thankfulness.
Please help me to sing with faith,
To carry the truth close in my heart always,
To rejoice at new life and
To have peace as I age.
Please help me to indulge in love
To breathe in the sweetness of intimacy,
To taste the kindness of friendship,
To feel the warmth of embrace.
Please help me not to miss
A single drop of heaven,
To catch each moment
And drink in the great joy of life.

Dear Lord,
I know you know sadness, and understand its toll,
The twist and burn of loss within, you met this on the cross.
I know you know hopelessness, you've tasted dead end life,
The bland and choking feeling of sentence on your life.
I know you know emptiness, the absence of all things,
The cavernous and empty place when no one sees your tears.
I know you know depression, the cramped and stifling place,
In which alive feels desolate, as thorns push in your face.
I know you know how it feels, because you chose to take all these things,
Upon yourself, upon a cross, when you died in my place.
You know, love does conquer.
You know, risen life.
You know, hope dispelling fear.
You know, kingdom heights.
You know, heavens victory.
You know, redemptions power.
You know, grace poured out for all.
You know, this day and hour.
So I know when I'm feeling trapped
And lose my very way,
That you Lord have overcome
All I face each day.
