Prayer For Peaceful Mind

Father God, I pray for those prisoners who are behind bars and that You give those who've trusted in You, peace. Please help them to know that You are sovereign over all things and that much good can come from bad (Gen 50:20; John 3:16), and in even these men and women's darkest hours, You are their true source of light which is found in Jesus Christ. I pray that you give them the peace that Your Word promises for those who believe in Your Son (Rom 5:1) and please help them to know they are no longer condemned (Rom 8:1). With the comfort that You give us, please give to them Lord, so that they might pillow their head tonight in peace, knowing that if you would come tonight, those doors would be open forevermore. I ask this for the glory of the Lord, Jesus Christ, in Whose name I pray, amen.

We praise you God, for you go before us and cover us from behind. You walk beside us and make our footsteps firm. You are our Protector and Defense. We never have to fear that we're alone, thank you for your powerful Presence surrounding us. We renew our focus on You this day, and thank you advance for all that you will do.

for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard. Isaiah 52:12

We love you, we need you, we choose to look to you today, and every day

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

Dear God,

You remind us over and over in your Word that you are always with us. You tell us not to fear and you draw us close into your Presence. You're the only place we find refuge in the storms that surround us right now Lord. You're the only place we can find peace and strength. So we ask you for your words of truth and power to strengthen us in our inner being and life our hearts to you. Thank you for your goodness, thank you that you know the way we take and you have a plan. We look to you today our Lord and Savior, it's your face we seek. Amen

Dear God,

The thoughts in my mind are not the ones I want.
I don't seem to be doing a great job of changing them.

I am willing to think what you would have me think.
I am willing to be at peace.

I claim the confidence of the psalmist in Psalm 91:

You deliver me my God from the snare of the fowler.
You deliver me my God from the noisome pestilence.

I now affirm:
The thoughts in my mind are the ones I want.
I am thinking what you would think.
I am at peace.

Thank you so much.

Amen.

"I feel upset about something.
On and on go my racing thoughts.
They feel like bad thoughts, negative thoughts.
I want to just dismiss them, but I don't seem to have the power to replace my thoughts with the thoughts that God would have me think."

Lead me to your still streams O Lord
Where I can kneel in the waters of life
Lay down my anxious thoughts
And cast all my cares on You

Here I will wait a while
Wait a while
And bathe in the life-giving waters

Bathe my mind in Your Spirit O God
Come fill my being with Your peace

Bathe my heart with Your love O God
Come still my being with Your peace

Bathe my spirit with Your freedom O God
Come saturate this life with Your peace

O Almighty God, you pour out on all who desire it the spirit of grace and of supplication: Deliver us, when we draw near to you, from coldness of heart and wanderings of mind, that with steadfast thoughts and kindled affections we may worship you in spirit and in truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Lord, thank you for allowing me to live another beautiful day. I am grateful for the beauty of the sun and Your other creations. Despite sometimes forgetting to proclaim my thanks, I am overjoyed by the wonders around me. Thank you for my life. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
