Prayer For Pain Relief For A Friend
O Living Christ, make us conscious now of Thy healing nearness.
Touch our eyes that we may see Thee;
open our ears that we may hear Thy voice;
enter our hearts that we may know Thy love.
Overshadow our souls and bodies with Thy presence,
that we may partake of Thy strength, Thy love and Thy healing life.
Merciful God, we pray to you for the recovery of all who are facing illness or pain. We join our
prayers with all who love them. Grant them renewed strength and courage. Strenghten in them
the healing powers You have placed within us all. Guide the hearts and hands of those who are
entrusted with their care. Help all of us who share the anxiety of this illness to be brave and
hopeful. Inspire us with courage and faith. Grant your blessings to all who call upon you. Amen
Lord, I need your help right now. Deliver me from this infection or virus or whatever it is that is making me so sick. And while you're doing that, please visit my friend, who I know deals almost daily with the pain. Send her relief and healing.
O merciful Father in heaven, thank You for being with (name of person) while he/she was in surgery. Thank You for blessing the surgeon with the skill and knowledge needed to do his/her work and safely bringing (name person) through this operation. O gracious Father, bring healing to (name person) and bless him/her with the best care possible as he/she recovers. Continue to bless him/her with your tender care. Grant him/her patience during his/her recuperation, help him/her grow in strength each day, and bring him/her to full recovery quickly, without any setbacks. Amen.
Thank you, Father, for your love for me and for my family. I thank you for the blessings I have in my life, and I ask for one further blessing. My dear friend, ____, is starting her/his recovery from surgery. I ask that you may give her/him peace within her/his heart and give her/him the recovery that he/she so desperately seeks. Still her/his mind so that she/he may feel tranquility and calm in your love. Amen.
O Lord, guide and protect my friend during this time. Give them the compassion and wisdom that they need to help my friend. In your mercy, protect my friend from pain and anxiety. I pray that you will grant my beloved friend a good health. Amen.
Dear Precious God of our fathers, comfort our dear friends as they are homesick. Remind them that they are in Your loving care and that You are always with them even when they are not able to spend time with the loved ones that they left behind. Help them to remember the words of Your Son when he said Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. (John 16:20-22)
Lord of Lords and King of Kings, I thank you for your grace and mercies in this day you created. You comfort us in times of trouble so that we can comfort others in their hour of need. This day I dedicate my dear friend to you. He is going through troubling times and is in a lot of pain. The pain is preventing him from carrying out everyday duties. As well as fulfilling his purpose for your kingdom. You see even the deepest secrets of our hearts so if his suffering is as a result of his actions I intercede and repent on his behalf and ask for your mercy. If the suffering is the work of the enemy, I claim your promise that states nothing formed against your will shall prosper. Let my friend's pain be the means through which your glory gets displayed. Let his situation work out in his favor according to your plan. I confess your healing power, and rise against the spirit of infirmity and suffering and declare that his or her body receives total recovery from pain and suffering through the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.
