Prayer For Our Country

Lord, we lift up prayer for our leaders. Lord, we ask for blessings on our leaders. May these servants who are in positions of authority take that responsibility seriously and do their very best each day. May they realize their need for you and for your direction. May they hear your voice as they make their decisions, and may they follow your guidance. May they have a passion for people, for truth, and for righteousness. Amen

Father, we thank You for the leadership in this divine transformation of the Tampa Metropolitan area. We pray for all pastors, ministry leaders, intercessors and prayer teams leading in all locations. We pray for the Revive Florida team. We thank You that by Your grace all these leaders are examples of Christ. We pray they are equipped and empowered for the calling upon their lives. They glorify God in all that they do. They are encouraged and strengthened. We confess that the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel and might, rests upon them. We thank You that they daily walk in holiness, integrity, humility, justice, peace and love.

Guide our leaders with righteousness
Strengthen their hearts but keep them from hardening
That they may use their influence and authority to speak truth and act for justice
May all who dwell in this country share in its bounty, enjoy its freedoms and be protected by its laws
May this nation use its power and wealth to be a voice for justice, peace and equality for all who dwell on earth
May we be strong and have courage
To be bold in our action and deep in our compassion
To discern when we must listen and when we must act
To uproot bigotry, intolerance, misogyny, racism, discrimination and violence in all its forms
To celebrate the many faces of God reflected in the wondrous diversity of humanity
To welcome the stranger and the immigrant and to honor the gifts of those who seek refuge and possibility here,
As they have since before this nation was born
Let justice well up like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream. Amen

Our God and God of our ancestors, bless this country and all who dwell within it.
Help us to experience the blessings of our lives and circumstances
To be vigilant, compassionate, and brave
Strengthen us when we are afraid
Help us to channel our anger
So that it motivates us to action
Help us to feel our fear
So that we do not become numb
Help us to be generous with others
So that we raise each other up
Help us to be humble in our fear, knowing that as vulnerable as we feel there are those at greater risk, Amen

I thank you, Lord, that I live in the land of the free because of the brave. What freedom and privilege I enjoy each day without fear of persecution. Raise up God-fearing men and women to serve in state and local government. Promote those who are in right standing with you. Appoint the righteous to represent your people. Holy Spirit, speak to the leaders of this country. Instruct our heads of state. May their will bend to the influence of the Holy Spirit. May they serve with pure hearts and right motives. In Jesus' name, Amen.

So whether you are loving on orphans in a devastated country, bringing soup to a sick neighbor, or kneeling in your prayer closet, you make a difference for the kingdom of God.

Thank you, God, for the body of believers who are called to serve you, who are proclaiming the Good News to all who will hear. From those who minister across the country to the men, women, and youth here at home, send us out to be a light in the dark. Send us out to speak life. Send us out to extend grace and mercy. Send us out to feed the hungry, to befriend the lonely, to find the lost. Open the doors of this church and fill it with the broken, the angry, the hurting. Let them find forgiveness and comfort here in the presence of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dear Lord, we pray for supernatural strength for our city leaders. Father we pray that You raise them up like Joshua, so that they can be leaders of great courage. Lord, help them not to fear the decisions they have to make because You Lord are with them. We ask that You will help them to be strong and of good courage and that they will observe to do according to all You have commanded them. Father we thank You, Amen.

Father, your Son said that the love we have for our brothers and sisters will proclaim to the world that we are your disciples (John 13:3435). Deepen our love for one another and make us eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:1-3). Help us care for all, not showing favoritism.

[Tweet Open the eyes of my heart to see the glorious hope we have in Christ.]

May love compel us to strengthen the weak, bind up the injured, and serve patiently as we remember our service to others is service to you (Matthew 25:3146). Help us model your unfathomable love for us in our honoring of one another, and so prove to the watching world Christ has risen and reigns.
