Prayer For Nursing Students

Jesus, you are the Healer
who calls all nurses to serve and to care for people in your name.
As we carry out this holy ministry, be with us,
bless us with the wisdom of your Holy Spirit
and fill us with the compassion
that allows us to put the needs of those we serve before all else.
In the midst of this highly technological and often impersonal age
let us not forget that nursing is fundamentally about being with people in need.
It is about touch a listening presence a willing and compassionate heart
that sees beyond symptoms and signs of illness
to a person in need and to their community of concern.
Help us to embrace the charism that is nursing to make it our own
and in so doing to bring your healing presence into the lives of people in need.
In your holy name we pray.
Amen.

Help nurses to be at peace with how You want to work in the lives of their patients. Help them accept Your will and see it as goodness even when it doesn't feel like anything close to being good. Thank you, Lord, for bringing Kyle's nurses into our life. Thank you for all those you've called to serve in this way. We need each and every one of them.

Amen.

Dear God,

We lift up ____ as they go through ____ procedure. Please guide the minds and hands of the medical team before, during, and after the procedure. May they be blessed with wisdom and knowledge to perform the procedure with excellence and in a way the supports the best outcome. We ask for your presence to fill the room and your peace to be surround all involved. Please comfort their loved ones as they wait. Help them to put their hope in you, and to know how to love and support ____ after the procedure. We trust in your unfailing love.

In His Name,

Amen

Lord, I want to be used by You to minister to those that come into my care and pray that You would give me the right words to say to those that are hurting, and the right treatment to those that are suffering.

Help me to be able to give hope to those that are worried and comfort to those that are sorrowing. Help me to lift up those that are weary and be compassionate and tender towards those that are upset.

Help me to be both compassionate and encouraging to all who cross my path and may my life demonstrate the joy of the Lord to all with whom I come in contact. I pray that I may be a real blessing in their lives and draw me ever closer to Your heart of love, as I continue in the work into which You have graciously placed me. In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen.

Give my family and friends the ability to realize I really am on the edge of insanity.
Finally, Lord, give me the vision to see that one day I will be a real nurse and I will never have to wear this ugly uniform again.

Lord, I know we go through this everyday but please give the knowledgeas to why I actually wanted to go to nursing school.

Give me the strength to make it through those boring lectures without falling asleep.

Please give me the patience to make it through the clinical duties with instructors that can't just give you the right answer and on the same note, give the nurses the ability to remember what it was like to be a student and give us just a little more respect.

Give me the endurance to read all the assigned readings and be able to remember it when I am taking a test with the right answers.

Dear Lord,

As the threat of this crisis challenges our way of life, I pray that I can bring comfort to those who are ill and help them battle this terrible disease. Show me how to instill hope while providing my patients with the best care to the best of my ability. Give me strength and energy, so I can continue to serve those who need me. I pray in Jesus' name, amen.

Dear Lord,

As I care for my patients today, be with me.

Fill me with courage and understanding as I approach each one of them. Let me be a source of strength for everyone under my care and their families.

Bless me with knowledge, skills, and understanding so that I can provide the best care possible to my patients. Oh Lord, help me comfort them. Allow me to be a reflection of Your love.

And when I am starting to feel weary, be there for me. Help me remember the purpose of my vocation so that I may continue serving others.

Amen
