Prayer For New Couple

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your grace which You so generously, and continuously, bless us with. You are worthy of all praise and all glory.

I lift my hands in humble worship and adoration. Bless and empower my words and thoughts today, O Lord that they may be pleasing to you, my Rock and my Redeemer.

God of Enduring Faithfulness, may we be filled with love for each other that reflects your love for us. Your love is not easily angered. Let us be slow to anger and rich in love for each other. Your love keeps no record of wrongs, let us be quick to forgive each other. Your love rejoices in truth, let us be honest with each other. Your love always protects, let us protect each other. May we love each other in the same way we have been loved by you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Everlasting Father, thank you that you are the light of the world, guiding our steps on your path. Your word says that you are able to bless us abundantly in all things at all times. Help us to view our relationship in the light of eternity. We ask you to show grace throughout the generations. We pray that our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and beyond would know your blessing. You are able to do far more than all that we ask or imagine, according to the power at work within us. To you be glory throughout all generations, forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Dear God, Thank you for this beautiful day. I pray over my marriage, asking that you infuse my husband and I with passion for life, passion for love and intimacy, passion to grow in wisdom, and passion to serve you together. May hope rise in our hearts and may our love burn for each other like never before.

Father, help us to follow and serve you with an ever growing commitment because of our union. Guide us into greater love and sacrifice as we care for each other's needs, knowing you will care for us.

May we always be as keenly aware of your presence as we sense it today on our wedding day. And may our devotion in marriage be a radiant reflection of your love for us. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, we pray.

Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please help us to grow. Give us the wisdom to put aside our desires for those things that we know to be good.

Grant us the strength to exercise the areas of our lives where we lack. Give us a focus and the perseverance to run.

May we step out in faith rather than sitting around waiting for motivation to move us. We know what we should be doing, and we know what we should be changing, but we're lacking self-discipline. Give us the wisdom to grow and the strength to move forward.

Let us vow to bear witness to the wholeness of life, realizing the completeness of each and every thing.

Embracing our differences, I shall know myself as you, and you as myself.

May we serve each other for all our days, here, there, and everywhere.

Let us vow to open ourselves to the abundance of life.

Freely giving and receiving, I shall care for you, for the trees and stars, as treasures of my very own.

May we be grateful for all our days, here, there, and everywhere.

Let us vow to forgive all hurt, caused by ourselves and others, and to never condone hurtful ways.

Being responsible for my actions, I shall free myself and you.

Will you free me, too?

May we be kind for all our days, here, there, and everywhere.

Let us vow to remember that all that appears will disappear.

In the midst of uncertainty, I shall sow love.

Here! Now! I call to you:

Let us together live

The Great Peace that we are.

May we give no fear for all our days, here, there, and everywhere.

Today we promise to dedicate ourselves completely to each other, with body, speech, and mind.

In this life, in every situation, in wealth or poverty, in health or sickness, in happiness or difficulty, we will work to help each other perfectly.

The purpose of our relationship will be to attain enlightenment by perfecting our kindness and compassion toward all sentient beings.
