Prayer For My Son And Daughter

Hold on to the hope of knowing that God has an amazing plan for your life. Please know that I am praying the very same prayers for my son, and I greatly look forward to the day when he brings you home to meet us for the very first time. I. Can't. Wait.

But, until then, please know that you are already loved by our family, Dear Daughter.

With love and anticipation on the blessings to come, Amen

Dear Daughter. I pray that you grow in wisdom and knowledge of the Lord. I pray He bestows many blessings in your life. I pray He protects your heart and mind from sexual sin. I also pray that if you make mistakes, and many of us do, Sweet Daughter, that you will seek His forgiveness and know that you are indeed forgiven. When your heart is broken, I pray you surrender it to God. Only He can make you whole. No man, including my son, can fill this hole in your life. You are a child of God. You are precious. I pray you don't lose sight of this.

I pray that my children may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them and went away. (Matthew 19:1315)

Keep my son and daughter healthy and strong so that she may labor with all Your energy (Colossians 1:29) to do the good works You prepared for her to walk in before the creation of the world (Ephesians 2:10). Just as Jesus came not to be served but to serve, help her to serve others in Your love and to see the broken and needy through Your eyes (Matthew 20:28).

Almighty God, Your Word says that those who hope in You renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they'll run and not grow weary; and will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31). May my son and daughter grow in wisdom, in stature, and in favor before You and others (Luke 2:52).

Guard them from addictions and idols that would draw their hearts away from You (Proverbs 4:23), and give their an insatiable desire for You. Quench them thirst with You and cause them to keep seeking You above all else (Matthew 6:33). And when they draws near to You, may they sense You draw near to her as well (James 4:8).

Holy God, I thank you for the precious gift of my daughter. I pray you would protect her through the years. May she become a young woman of great character, seeking after your heart. I pray that through the challenges of life, she would find her confidence in you. May she know your joy as her strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Amen.
