Prayer For My Deceased Father
Father,
you know our hearts and share our sorrows.
We are hurt by our parting from those whom we loved:
when we are angry at the loss we have sustained,
when we long for words of comfort,
yet find them hard to hear,
turn our grief to truer living,
our affliction to firmer hope
in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. (Ps 25:1)
The book of Psalms is full of many entreaties in that book of the holy texts, and this verse in particular can be a simple thing to pray when nothing else seems to do justice to one's grief. It can allow you to show your vulnerability and unhappiness without needing many words to showcase it, through the belief that God understands the soul.
As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now are apart of us; as we remember them.
This prayer from Judaism is brief but powerful, making it clear that one response to overwhelming grief is a resolute commitment to maintain their memory. It can turn one's sad thoughts and recollections to how to live a good life that would honor one's father.
Time is in your hands, O Lord
You place the sun and moon.
You turn the tides of ocean deep
So you can hold me safe in grief,
You can hold me safe.
Eternity is always there
Around us everyday.
From every seed that grows a tree
Creation sings of life redeemed,
In Christ we are redeemed.
Love is yours, it bears your mark,
Your imprints everywhere.
Each tender word I shared remains
Love lives beyond our fleeting frame,
It lives beyond our frame.
My precious one runs to your arms
I trust them to your care.
You catch my tears and help me see,
The hope of Heaven's glorious light,
The hope of Heaven's light.
Dear Jesus,
Come wait here, come dwell here with me. I hide in your presence, and rest in the grief.
I lost so much when dad passed away, his comfortable arm around my shoulder, his generous love of me. Lord, stir up these wonderful memories and help me to soak in that warmth. And when I am chilled by his absence, please cover me with your love and surround me with your arms.
Fill up my dreams with the hope of Heaven, my mind with the promise of truth. Give me the vision to trust that my father is safe now with you. Lead me to new springs of life to enjoy, until I too come home Lord to you.

O God, who hast commanded us to honor our father and our mother; in Thy mercy have pity on the soul of my father, and forgive his his trespasses; and make me to see him again in the joy of everlasting brightness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Dear Father, I thank You for taking care of my fathe during his life on Earth. I thank You for giving them the opportunity to bring me into this world and I likewise thank You for the opportunity to have this prayer. I rejoice over the life that he led while alive and for the good deeds he accomplished. Lord God, I thusly pray for the soul of my deceased father and that You take care of him on his way to Your holy Kingdom. I thank you for listening to my prayers oh Lord, Amen.
May the light of Jesus and the Angels bring Peace and Salvation to my dad. May he rest in peace knowing that his soul belongs to GOD and GOD only. No demon, no devil, no principality, no evil spirit has access to his light and salvation. All is well with us DAD go home and rest. We love you and one day soon we will see you in HEAVEN!
