Prayer For Long Distance Love
Dear Lord, I know that I have been beautifully and wonderfully made, and I thank you for my life and for Your love.
Thank you, also, for granting me a partner who is also beautifully and wonderfully made, who shows me some of Your character, and who brings me joy and fulfillment in ways I didnt even know I needed!
You are a gracious and loving God and I thank you for giving us the gift of being able to share that love with one another.
Lord, You know my heart, and You know that I would much rather have my partner from far away than not at all.
You also know that sometimes my heart aches with the desire to be near my partner: to share lifes joys and to comfort each other when life is hard; to laugh together, to play together, and to be able to look one another in the eye and say I love you, even when resolving conflicts.
I know that You have a plan for us, and that Your plan is much better than one that I could devise. Right now it is so hard for us to be away from each other, so please, Lord, fill us with strength for the journey.
Help us recognize the value in each day, and to see each day as a new opportunity. Fill our hearts with compassion, understanding, and creativity to keep us strong when the pain seems too difficult to bear.
And please, Lord, if you will, help us find a way to be together soon.

Almighty and Everlasting Jesus, I give You thanks and I lift up Your precious name. You tell me to put away anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from my mouth. You tell me to be kind, humble, meek and patient. I try, dear Jesus! But I am so far from perfect. I have to get better at this and mature for my long-distance relationship to work. Help me to become mature in You, to pray with all my heart, and to adopt Your spirit of forgiveness. Mold me into Your image, and make me Your vessel. Amen.
God my Great Provider, I thank You for my long-distance relationship. I place it in Your righteous hands and ask that You guide both me and my partner in our relationship. You know that plans that You have for us, Your plans are to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. I pray that if this relationship is in line with Your will, that You will show us what to do for the long-term health of our relationship. Lead us in our actions so we can protect this blessing we have received from You in each other. Direct us so that we may fulfill the plans that You have for our lives. Amen.
God of Mercy and Love, give me the patience to endure the distance between myself and my loved one. You say that love is patient, and I am struggling to see an end to the distance that separates me from my loved one. Keep our love alive and strong while we have to be apart. Teach us how to love like You love Your children. Teach us to bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, and endure all things. With love, I know that our love will conquer the miles that separate us. Thank You for the blessing of this relationship, Father. I pray that it will forever be kept in love. Amen.
Lord of Power, I thank You for my long-distance relationship because I know that You have blessed me with this relationship. Show me how to continue to love and crush any bad feelings that may creep up within me because of doubt over such a long distance. You say that hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses. Crush any hatred, jealousy, anger or bitterness in our relationship. Fill our hearts with agape love. Inspire within us a love that knows no distances or boundaries, that shines to the ends of this earth. Amen.
Righteous Savior, I pray that I trust in You with all my heart, especially regarding my long-distance relationship. I pray that I do not lean on my own understanding because You see, hear and know all things. I am but a mere mortal, Jesus. You are all-powerful! Inspire me to trust You with my relationship and with my journey because You know what's best for me. Mold me into Your image so that I can trust and acknowledge You to guide my path. Thank You, Jesus, for Your everlasting direction. Amen.
God of Heaven's Armies, You say that no temptation will overtake me except what is common to mankind. You say that You will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I can bear. Help me, God. It is difficult to be so many miles away from my loved one, unable to see his/her face and feel his/her warm embrace. Forge my strength against temptations of the flesh in his/her absence. Convict me with peace about the faithfulness of my loved one. Drive out jealousy, fear of the unknown and lack of trust from my mind. For both of us, I pray that when we are tempted, You provide a way out so that we can endure the temptation and move beyond it, remaining faithful to each other. Amen.
Jesus, my Savior, being in a long-distance relationship is hard. It's hard to trust, to ignore doubts and let go of fears. You say to be strong and courageous. You say that I should not tremble or be dismayed because You are with me wherever I go. I know that, Jesus, but please help my unbelief. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit in my loneliness. Comfort me whenever I have a fight. Help me feel Your presence and comfort my needy soul. Amen.
